Any one up for some Tifo style support? I think we can bring a lot more atmosphere to the game and show our loyalty at the same time. It's caught on with several other groups in MLS. Who's with me?

It's caught on and/or been pursued by other MLS supporters groups for a couple of different reasons:
* Different fan demographic than here in New England...
* Accomodating front offices in selected cities (Chicago & DC for example)...
Groups like The Midnight Riders have lobbied the Revs front office for years to allow for a similar style of support, and while the relationship now is far better than what it was in the beginning, Revolution games are always going to be packaged as family entertainment, with little in the way of TIFO efforts being accommodated.
I'd love to see The Fort resemble the following one day:

Thing is, I know damn well it'll never happen.

Heck, I'd even settle for just colored paper/placards, like the Fionentina (3rd pic). As a start, we could bring out larger flags like the Super Revs one. Slightly more, IMO.
Also Chivas USA have the "most passionate fans in all of MLS," because the manager/owners raelize that TIFO is part of their culture. They let us cuss out Thornton, but won't let us do that?

Flags will be allowed access into the stadium; however, flag poles over 2 feet in length will not be allowed (See banner policy below).
2 feet is pretty good for a nice color effect, if we get a few people to help out.
Or we could get the colored placards of red/white/blue maybe do one row of each?
Just me thinking aloud.

Tifo? Help me out here.
With two foot flagpoles, does the measurement start at the end of the flag? If it does, two people could hold up fairly large flag/banner if there are "poles" at each end.

2 feet is not much for a flag, but it is a start I agree...I would love the color cards, but we need to organize it a bit more...

For the 5/27 game, we should hold up blue cards with "20" in white as a statement towards Twellman's shafting.

I'm game. We've got the ideas and the motivation; let us go for it!
I sense a splinter group possibility NO definite plans, of course. The element's just there.

I didn't know either, so I looked it up:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tifo
As best I can tell, it's a large-scale coordinated show of support by a supporters group.

USA/Canada
Sam's Army (US National Teams)
Legion 1908 (C.D. Chivas USA)
Barra Brava (DC United)
Screaming Eagles (DC United)
Inferno (FC Dallas)
Section 8 Chicago (Chicago Fire)
Timbers Army (Portland Timbers)
Ultras Montreal (Montreal Impact)
Dark Clouds (Minnesota Thunder)
Galaxians (Los Angeles Galaxy)
LA Riot Squad (Los Angeles Galaxy)
no midnight riders or rev army :(
btw, it can be a bit...... but if you have interest in that part of the culture

that whole list sounds like list of groups of all types, not ultras groups (and I don't mean just US/Canada part, which admitedly is funniest :D)

Well, technically we aren't Ultras yet. Once we get a couple semi-tifos going we can add ourselves to the list.
As for beantown ultras, we could follow the Greek groups and give ourseleves a Gate name (I just think they sound badass, personally).
