Well, this is it, the penultimate game of the year, and against the newly-crowned Champions, too. If we win, we secure a UEFA cup spot, as this is the table around us:
Team______GP___GD____POINTS
Arsenal____36____33______61
ROVERS____36____6______57
Newcastle__37____4______55
Bolton_____36____7______52
If we draw or lose both Bolton and Newcastle still have a chance if they win their remaining games (Bolton at home to Boro and Brum--should win both) and Newcastle end at home to Chelsea (who knows). They can both get 58 points maximum, but with Bolton's goal differential we can't afford to get only one point if they win both. So two points is all we need, and therefore a pair of draws will do us, or a single win. Even if we somehow lose to Chelsea tonight, our last match is at home to Man City, which we should certainly be able to win (doing it is another matter). But here's hoping we beat them and settle everything tonight.
We will be without Nelson and Todd again, while Chelsea are without Terry, Drogba, Makelele and Essien, and might rest Lampard. Expect their second-stringers to see action, but it won't be easy. Another huge game for us.
