I'd be really grateful if someone could tell me more about Cambiasso and where in stands in Argentina's scheme of things. I'd hardly heard of him and he's really impressed me in the first few matches that he's played. He never seemed to be mentioned among the options for an enforcer in the Argentinian midfield, but if he lives up to the promise of the first few matches, he's doing a better job of controllingt the Real Madrid midfield than anyone since Redondo... better even than Helguera and certanly better than Makalele.

So who is this guy... how old is he... and how good is he?

A little sad for Solari though. He was easily Madrid's best midfielder after Zidane last year, but Cambiasso's emergence and Figo almost back to form, his chances may be very limited this season.

"Sergio Schulmeister, a goalkeeper with Argentine first division club Hurricane, has commited suicide, police said Wednesday."

Very sad...

I remember laughing at his name when FSWLA showed Huracan vs. Independiente.

::sigh:: May he rest in peace.

Gracias. Its always sad when someone takes their own life. We don't know the whole story behind it, but it still kind of lingers over my head throughout the day.

What is the best website, in English, for info on football in Argentina, both club and international? I apologize in advance for not being fluent, or even conversant, in Spanish, and would appreciate any help. Thank you.

It looks like the dates I will be in Buenos Aires has changed, and I will not be able to go to la Bombonera.

I still would like to check a game out, which one do you recommend for atmosphere and entertainment value, although a full house goes a long way to enjoying a game, and general security as well..

Lanús - - Banfield

San Lorenzo - - Boca Juniors

Chacarita Juniors - Huracán

River Plate - - Estudiantes LP

Vélez Sarsfield - Talleres Cba.

Racing Club - Rosario Central

i like boca, just i am not sure going there to cheer as a visiting team...

River Plate - Estudiantes LP is a good game to go to... The stadium is in Buenos Aires and is not far from 9 de Julio or the airport..

San Lorenzo - Boca is more of a drive to get to but worth it!

gracias mario

argentina parece un pais tan grande, geograficamente, pero todo parece concentrado en 80 kms a la redonda.

los que juegan en Buenos a's comparten 2 estadios?

los de avellaneda tambien comparten? o cada uno tiene su propio rancho con cancha?
