Nestor Aparicio. He always pimped local soccer - the Blast has a weekly thing and he would talk up local college soccer and Quaranta. He stopped doing his afternoon show more than a year ago to focus on running the station (he is also owner of the place). I shot him an e-mail to see if they have anything planned.

Moved to Radio forum.

http://www.wnst.net/ - WNST, 1570. You can barely get it in Baltimore (very low power) so DC is out, but they say they stream online.

I e-mailed him as well.. Haven't heard a response. His morning show guy, Drew Forrester, is an old Baltimore Blast soccer GM. He was brought on to give updates about the 2002 World Cup and now has a job at WNST in the mornings. This guy will talk about soccer no doubt. It is up to the callers to determine the length of him talking about it. The more we call and e-mail the more they will talk it up.

On a side note- the guys on ESPN 1300 in the afternoon rush hour time were talking about Barca v Arsenal for quite some time and also about the World Cup... all positive stuff and they are big fans of soccer but I think their jobs are coming to an end with the hiring of some chick to take over.

Also, John Eisenberg, a long time Baltimore Sun columnist is a HUGE world cup fan. He wrote a column about the World Cup Draw back in December. You can bet this guy will be going to Germany to write columns for The Sun. Thank God we have soccer friendly media in Baltimore!!!!

I could go on... Viviano on channel 13 CBS is a huge soccer fan and manages to squeeze in highlights of beckham, dc utd, man u, champions league on his 3 minute sport spots..
.... MIX 106.5 morning show hosted a world cup viewing party in 2002 - not sure if the same guys are here...
.... Mickey on 98ROCK (afternoon drive time) is a huge manchester united supporter - pimps soccer all the time.

E-mail these guys and let them know we appreciate them pimping soccer! :D
