I know it's a bit early for this thread...but it's late and I'm bored.

Seems to me like we have a decent chance of finishing in the top half (yippee). West Brom have nothing to play for, while Wigan play Arsenal and West Ham play Spurs. So with our traditional 1-nil win, we would end up in 10th behind the Hammers on GD.

BTW, anyone happen to know the record for the worst GD for a top half finish? A 1-nil would give us -14...outstanding!

What's with the Euro date crap?

Calm down buddy.

Yeah I don't care if we win this, I'd like to see Anichebe, Vidarsson, Turner, Ferrari, and VdM in on this one. Ferrari it doesn't look like he'll be with us next year. Ferguson deserves a last chance to score a goal...or get a ridiculous red card.

Is it true there are going to be like protests and stuff before the game against Kenwright and the board? I like Kenwright and all, and I know he loves the club, but he's got to go. He's not a good businessman and isn't moving the club forward.

Peace.

What's with the Euro date crap?
And what's with you bashing thread titles?

My thoughts on the game: we won't win and we'll play like crap if Moyes starts the same old tired lineup. I agree with zerorespects - bring on the kids?

Sheesh. I copy the Everton v. Birmingham thread title and edit it and all I get is smack, smack, smack.

Ya know -- and I'm only saying this because I care -- there are lots of decaffeinated brands on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing.

Bringing on the kids is a good idea, but remember that each place in the table is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of £500,000. No small incentive, that, especially if there's any truth to this:

http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,1766170,00.html

I don't see Moyes being willing (or able) to pass that up. Same old, same old and a 0-0 draw to send everyone home disgruntled.

Only £10m at his disposal and he wants to spend at least £3m on one player? I'm sure he's a very good player, etc. etc. But when is Davey gonna learn that you can't shop in the English league when you're on a budget - the prices are too inflated!!

Sorry if I got you upset.

My one beef with the Euro date thing is that it's so infrequently seen in the U.S. that it can cause confusion.

Particularly if its a date like 7/5/06 which looks very much like July 5, 2006 to American eyes.

(dates like 23/5/06, on the other hand, shout out "Euro date" very loudly).

Dude - Let. It. Go.

It's a flippin date and, technically, this is an English game - so why shouldn't we use the European date? Besides, I think most people are smart enough to figure it out. Why would we be talking about a nothing game in July if it's only May?

It's just not worth having a conversation about.

You're the one responsible for this mess, dudette.

If you all want to go with a Euro style, my suggestion: 7 May 06.

Even if he does get Lescott for £3m and Timmy on a season-long loan, that still leaves £7m for a goalscorer (they don't come cheap!), possibly a second center back and covering any summer defections.

I doubt Wolves will let Lescott leave for much less than £4m, though. Unless Seol Ki-Hyeon has a breakout World Cup, he's their big saleable asset and their best chance to offset the lack of Premiership Parachute Payments.

Not to mention that, now that Everton have shown an interest in a player, Newcastle will be riding in close behind, checkbook in hand...

And don't forget that ManYoo were interested in Cahill, so perhaps we become light there as well. Of course, the injury may have scuttled that move (along with his WC hopes). Still, I agree that we are potentially thin come the summer, and all the lovely money will go into making the squad as good as we were this year, not better.

God, isn't that the truth. We only sign players when no one hears about it beforehand...
