All right........so who is your favorite comedian? I'm not familiar with most Mexican comedians so I only posted the Mexican - Americans. Feel free to let us know about your favorite Mexican comedian.

My favorites are George Lopez and Carlos Mencia. There will be a Latin Kings of Comedy coming out on film this year, but Mencia will not be participating since Paul Rodriguez and him have some beef going on.

Nobody can beat "Los Poliboses"

Cantinflas. Of course you youngsters have never seen a really great comedian, Mexican or American, who didn't need to resort to coarse, vulgar language to be funny.

Hell no Brotha! He is one of my favorites. An interesting note to Cantinflas is that he was also very popular around the world. Did you know that in Spain, Cantinflas film, "El Padrecito" had the record for the most ticket booth sales until Titanic came along.

Tucker is also funny but i have only seen him in Movies, Friday, and with Jackie Chan. The rest of the comedians i have seen do stand up. Speaking of which there was an HBO special with this Mexican American, not sure what his name was. He was talking about how You allways see black people working at Taco bell and Mexicans working at Kentuky Fried Chicken, funny stuff...

CANTINFLAS is in a completely different level, which none of the bozos mentioned in this thread will ever hope to reach.

Have to agree about Cantinflas. I was surprised by my 5 year old niece about a year ago when I was back in Texas for a visit. I asked what movie she wanted to watch and she pulled out one my parents Cantinflas tapes. My parents bought his whole collection I think they have like 30 movies or so. It turns out that she would watch those movies with my grandmother when my grandmother was visiting from Colombia.

I would have to say my favorite is Roberto Gomez Bolaņos "Chespirito" [Chavo del 8 and Chapulin Colorado] . Being funny to the whole age spectrum (young and old) and without being vulgar is not an easy thing to do. And he did it for decades and decades.

Polo Polo... man i have some great memories of him. When we took family trips, my dad would buy these polo polo tape and we would drive all over Mexico (Nuevo Leon, Queretaro, Mexico, SLP, etc) and listen to Polo Polo.

Cantinflas....classics. Loved watching his movies as a kid.

Capulina....also classic. Loved his movies.

Jorge Ortiz de Pineda [Dr. Candido Perez, Hasta que el amor no separe, etc]. This comedian has been at it for over 35 years. What I like about him is that he is not vulgar in a direct manner, but uses words and figures of speech with double meaning (doble sentido). He always tends to overreact which is a trip.

Ramon Valdez..... Don Ramon from el Chavo del 8. My favorite character in that show. Chespirito once said that the only guy that truely made him luagh time and time again was Ramon....

Luis de Alba "El Pirruris".....so dumb he made you luagh

Other honrobale mentions:

Rodney Dangerfield. My favorite American Comedian.

Sam Kinison. That guy made you luagh at crap you were not suppose to luagh at

Andre Dice Clay. The American version of Polo Polo..just down right nasty and rude

Rowan Atkinson. Loved Mr Bean.

No one comes close to him and Chespirito..

Charlie Chaplin was a huge fan of Cantinflas

I have to go with EvilRick on this one.

Los Polivoces kick ass. I also really liked the show called La Caravana, with such characters as Brozo, Valente Quintero, Margarito.

The guy that was making the jokes about blacks in Taco Bell and Mexicans working at KFC is almost surely Carlos Mencia. I've heard him use that on some of his CD's.
