If you use "family" as the reason for a ticket exchange, do they ask for any proof the person really is family? (if they have a different name and live in a different country)

Another question: when exchanging tickets from now (ie at one of the stadiums), is it sufficient for the lead applicant to be present? If the guest who can't come isn't there, but the lead applicant is, is a power of attorney still required? I wish FIFA would stick to the same terminology on their site, some of it's very ambiguous.

What is a power of attorney anyway? A letter drafted by a solicitor? Or simply a signed letter from the original guest, with photocopied passport etc?

No proof was required and none was provided. I was on the receiving end of a transfer using the "family" reason and each of the three original ticket holders had different last names - but the three new ticket holders DID have the same last name. That was some trickeration!
