3.5 hours to wait. Is anyone as excited and nervous about the start of the season as me?

I had terrible luck and got knocked from the cup already. I expect to compete closely for a series title. I have quietly sold a no-secondary winger trainee for a better trainee and several upgrades, including a GK (my 4th GK so far... terrible injury problems), CB, IM, and FW. I face 1 of my two main competitors for the title, at home. I should probably win, but will MOTS anyway. Yeah, in Game 1. I want to go out and kill this team and send a serious message.

What's at stake in your game 1?

I've got a fairly tough home game against a team with a strong defence and midfield but no attack. Normally I'd be confident of a win but the form of some of my important attacking players isn't so great and I'm PICing so I have no idea what is going to happen.

I play the demotee from V. Fitch Burgers. I probably won't win but a draw would be nice. Match # 79687143 if you are interested in following along.

I've got a tough team for the first game of the season. He hasn't logged in that much and did not PIC in the cup game, which means he won't be PIC'ing in my game most likely. However, I would like to so I could maintain my TS for a match two weeks from now against the team that relegated from IV.

I am still not sure what I am going to do...

I take on 6th place from last season. Last year I beat him 3-1 at home with a PIC. We'll see what happens this time at home.

I'm at home against the DV demotee creampuff. Considering the other matchups this week, I stand a reasonable chance of seizing first on goal differential.

I get to start off the season against a fairly new team. Another PIC towards a bank of TS before next weekend's match on the road.

I have fellow BSer BrianJames (LSD Chicago) at home to open play in V.146. The matchid is 79581080, if anyone wants to follow it. This will be one of the few competitive matches Brays Bayou has on the season.

Spocker took a creative approach on the field. The 2nd minute saw a great chance for Spocker to take the lead after a good centering pass from the right found Saúl Mosquera alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post.

interesting storyline here, Saúl came from my youth squad as an 18 year old solid playmaker with passable defending. I've never encountered one of my former players like this before.

it's neat.

1-1 and three total chances, that's as many as there usually for the whole match when I play this guy.

The referee showed Meteor's Luis Martínez the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In the game's 35th minute Meteor's Eser Hadice limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.

Maybe my team would play better if they stopped tackling each other.

You're down 2-1 in the 37th.

The match is in progress; 37 minutes of the first half have been played.
Clear skies welcomed the 22000 spectators who had made their way to The Big House. Beliefs decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. The following players had been chosen: Albanese - Sullivan, Tahvanainen, Allison - Aguilar, Lanker, Kunovich, Delgado - Welsh, Golob, Plouvier.

Riders tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. The following players had been chosen: Jors - Szczepankiewicz, Börjesson, Ankerdal - Bucãtaru, Anastasio, Persson, Basoco - Sindikas, Jasmund, Chonghao.

Riders seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Ilario Albanese looked great in the 2nd minute after stopping a shot by the visitors' Frederic Jasmund. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 in the 14th minute after a breakthrough from Björn Golob, who, unaided, came in out of the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors' keeper. 16 minutes into the game Björn Golob could see that the opposing goaltender was out of position and tried an unexpected lob that the keeper just barely reached. The rebound went to Giordano Aguilar who failed to hit the target. In the 16th minute, the visitors evened the score after Chen Chonghao made it through the middle and struck home the 1 - 1 goal. In the game's 18th minute, Riders's Jarosław Szczepankiewicz fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Jarosław Szczepankiewicz for diving. Riders took the lead in the game's 26th minute, scoring the 1 - 2 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Frederic Jasmund was the scorer.

I swear this game is going to give me an ulcer.

Events so far:
Opponent: yellow card
Opponent: normal chance, fingertip save by my new keeper
Me: CD red card
Me: long shot event from new trainee playing wingback (1-0 good guys!)
Me: normal chance (left)? A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased Roslindale's lead to 2 - 0 as Stéphane Hainaut finished it off competently, firing from an acute angle. (2-0 good guys!)

No evidence of it, but I really should have midfield control. *crosses fingers*
Without it, I'm in trouble...

Nothing like giving up two goals in the 44th minute to trail 3-2 at half and I am losing poss.
