Which three national team players from your domestic league (and UAE for Iran) ought to play in top European leagues like Spain, England, Italy, Germany… Portugal has a pretty respectable league of its own, so in their case, let’s just say: which players (within the Port. League) do you think merit a transfer to a big club.
My 3 picks are:
Javad Nekounam (once rumoured to go to Hertha BSC, Kaiserslautern, Fenerbahce…)
Hossein Ka’abi (the infamous Arsenal rumour which came out yesterday)
Javad Kazemian (also linked to a few Bundesliga and Turkish sides)
… But what I would like is a few more of our defenders (rather than midfielders) going to Europe, especially the EPL, like Ka’abi! Oh and I understand that some Mexicans think their league is better than Germany, that’s fine, then just think in terms of which European sides are worthy of your best domestic league players, j/k. Either way the World Cup is a good way for national sides to showcase some of the “local” ;) talent and I think we’ll be seeing many more IPL based players moving to Europe rather than the UAE.

It is also rumored that Fenerbache is also looking at Nikbakht Vahedi. He is one very talented player, and is coming out of hybernation.

It's also rumored that Chelsea is in a bidding war for Rafa Marquez. Who knows what will happen. Just a rumor as far as I know.

Actually, the rumored teams are AC Milan and Chelsea (according to BBCsport). With its aging backline, Milan is sorely in need of a world-class central defender. In all likelihood, Marquez will stay in Barcelona.

rafa marques should and probably WILL stay at barca.
he and puyol are a great defensive duo in the back, and both are natural leaders, PLUS, hes playing alongside ronaldinho, xavi, messi, eto'o........and maybe henry next year, come on!!!!!!

I'm not trying to start the typical US/Mexico rivalry arguments but am asking a legitmate question. Even though there is a disparity of quality between the FMF and the MLS, the national teams are for argument's sakes even (despite the fact that 25 years ago, US national soccer was crap). Do you think the fact that most Mexican players decide to stay in Mexico instead of playing in Europe hurts your national team?

Yeah but he did say that he would love to play for an Italian team, because he says that Italian soccer is more like his style of play.

Of course it hurts our national team, but the good thing now is that alot of our players are getting picked up at a young age. So now our prospects are getting trained and molded at an earlier age. So I do believe that the MNT are on the right track.

Picked up in Europe? Or in Mexico and begin to train on a higher level at a younger age?

Right after mexico won the u17 world cup championship, there has been a great interest in our prospects. So all these youths that are getting picked up are going to be playing at a much higher level which will be making a strong team even stronger in the future. Especially Carlos Vela with Arsenal and Giovanni Dos Santos with Barcelona.
