Rooney looks almost certain to miss this summers world cup with a broken foot.
Anyone know of any other big name players who will/could miss out this summer.

Well, he isn't exactly a 'big' name compared to the real big names, but Tim Cahill might miss a few games for the Aussies, which is unfortunate because i think he can contribute a great deal for Aus
Kewell and Schwarzer had a bit of doubt surrounding them as well but both apparently will be ok to play

They're all going to be fine.Schwarzer will wear a protective guard if needed, but I doubt it will. Both he and Cahills diagnosis have had weeks knocked off.Unlike Cahill, who will be back training in a few weeks,Rooney does look like he's in strife.Even as the WC gets underway, the worlds roughest head is not going to be match fit,and is going to have to rehibiltate his foot to regain the strength that will be lost due to the consecutive weeks of inactivity. Will be a test of how much guts he's got and how hard he's prepared to get back. Will probably have to have his return delayed until the round of 16.

I think Terry and Owen are going to be ok.
Cahill would be a massive blow for Australia if he missed out.

Yeah, keep on complaining crybaby, you will have some excuses after England will be knocked out of the tournament. First of all, why Terry would have to be out? His injury against MU was not serious so I don't know where did you take these news from. Moreover, Owen and Campbell have just recovered so they will have enough time to get back to form. Cole recovered too, but he doesn't play yet. What does Xabi and Totti's injury have to the fact that England will play with half reserves? Anyway, I see english fans are already looking for excuses, pretty early...

Owen is not injuried anymore. He is okay. England will be better if Campbell is injuried.

Most of those players he listed aren't out. For instance, Xavi and Owen played last weekend. Ashley Cole also returned to action yesterday. Totti is coming back to play this week. Terry will certainly recover in time as well.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco's injury was a big reason why he did not make the WC roster.

Sebastian Deisler (Germany) (2nd WC consecutive he is out for injurie)
Franklin Salas (Ecuador)
Gonzalo Rodríguez (Argentina) (I think he will not be nominated by Peckerman anyway)
Ricardo Oliveira (Brazil) (I don't know about his injurie)
Jan Koller (Czech Rep.) will be ok.
