this was always a productive thread in the OT portion of the RS boards, even though as an old fart I hadn't heard of a lot of the bands mentioned. What's in the CD changer of your car right now, or what's been rotating thru your player if you just have a single disc system?
Elvis Costello - Armed Forces (Rhino rerelease including "Live at Hollywood High" tracks)
The Beatles - Rubber Soul
Anne Sofie Von Otter Meets Elvis Costello - For the Stars
The Look Of Love - The Burt Bacharach Collection
Al Green - mix cd from Greatest Hits vols. 1 and 2
The Essential Little Richard

I don't even have a CD player anymore, but then last thing I listened to on my iPod was Keane, aka the best band ever.
Nice choices by both of you. DrL, I love Wilco and the Zutons.

Also, you can check out this really cool thing called an audioscrobbler/lastfm. It shows all the music you play on your computer. I'm here: http://www.last.fm/user/yanks02/ if anyone wants to friend me.

The only time I buy a CD is if I'm at a bar and I like the local band. The music gets thrown on my iPod, and I then I mostly listen to the music that I've rated high in iTunes.
Nice music selection Yanks! You really do like Texas Music. I was listening to Country today, so here's my last five songs:
I'm Tired - Pat Green
Addicks Reservoir - Brett Mouton
Jenny - Cross Canadian Ragweed
Rebel Child - Gretchen Wilson
Lead on - George Strait

The last CD in my car stereo was Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance, one of my 10 recommended "must haves".
I've been ripping all my cd collections onto my iPod. Lots and lots of stuff, but the groups I've been listening to mostly has been Rush, Led Zeppelin and Metallica. Every once in a while one the other home teams, ZZ Top.

I guess this is somewhat related...
If you want to find some new music you can try http://www.pandora.com/. Basically, you give it a song or artist that you like and it finds similar music and plays it. There's limitations, like you can't make it play certain songs or replay songs you've heard, but you can find some new artists from it.

Ah, I forgot about the Ipod revolution - still, the point is to find out what your fellow Dynamo fans are listening to...

I'm going to see Eisley at Meridian this Thursday night. If you haven't heard them, they are a really cool band and the girl's voices are gorgeous. Their site is here (http://www.eisley.com/). I just checked out the bands opening for them, called Simon Dawed (http://www.simondawes.com/main.html) who sound pretty cool from what I've heard and another band called Brighten (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=16529837) whoat first glance sound a little too emo teen music for me but warrant a checking out live.
So, if anyone wants to join me, I'll be at The Meridian Thursday night. (Yes, I'm that loser who goes to concerts alone because none of her friends here like this type of music.)

How's this for an off-shoot of your question. How does a win or loss change your tunes?
Most games so far haven't altered the tune-age, except the first loss (KC) and last night(CR). The day of the KC game I started out with my normal mix, but afterward I was so pissed off I went home and plugged my head into early, angry Metallica. And Black Sabbath and anything else dark and loud.
Last night's game against the Rapids changed my mode from ZZ Top/ Stevie Ray Vaughn to Led Zeppelin. In other words I mellowed out.
Anybody else?

I have an "I am happy" playlist that I play when I'm in a good mood. Still haven't created the "I am sad/pissed" playlist, but yeah I play a little Metallica, NIN, etc when pissed or some George Strait sad songs when bummed.

I have my Ipod on "Shuffle" right now...It just played Los Alegres de Teran (Regional Mexican) and now playing Tom Petty. I do not have a playlist that consist of which mood I am in but I do have a playlist called Headbanger's Ball which has Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, etc. Surprisingly, I do not have any Elvis Costello, yet, considering I have 4981 songs.

You had me at Neil Diamond.
Listening to Chamillionaire "Riding Dirty" at the moment. Previous two songs were Marvin Gaye "Sexual Healing" and Israel Kamakawiwo'ole "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (and yes I had to look at how to spell that)

My car is old so it only has a tape deck (i.e. I listen to a lot of 106.9, NPR or 94.5) but in my computer's CD player I have CD1 of Essential Baroque that I listen to while reading.
Prior to that I had been listening to a lot of Depeche Mode and some New Order.

I rate the songs in my iTunes library and then play the ones that I've rated 3 or higher and haven't heard in the last 3 weeks, so you never know what will be played:
Last five (lots of PJ for some reason):
Firefly - Breaking Benjamin (saw them at Buzzfest and they rocked)
Why Go - Pearl Jam (one of my fav bands)
The Way that You Love Me - Paula Abdul ( :o )
Hail Hail [Live] - Pearl Jam (2003 Houston concert; I was there)
Long Road - Pearl Jam
