Very nice. In the cafeteria Van Pelt is trying to convince him that they should call American football soccer in Italy (or Russia). That way we'd have football and soccer in both countries. "I'll suggest it."

I saw it. Pretty funny! Encapsulated the whole Football - Soccer arguement confusion.

Football in the air is called American Football in the UK.
In fact, I talk so much footy here in the States, I call it American Football here too.

I thought it was very clever...although I found Schev's punchline "I'll suggest it" a little hard to understand. Van Pelt is really good.

Finally saw it.

Funny. Andrei sold his bewilderment well. Whether that was good acting, or he genuinely was bewildered, well, y'all can all guess. :D

they got a guy who looks a lot like Andryi Shevchenko. I was surprised by the commercial... even more because it was kind of funny.

It IS Shevchenko. ESPN always gets pro athletes for their SportsCenter commercials, although I think that's the first time they've had a European soccer player (hasn't Cobi been in one??).

I thought it was pretty stupid. I'm a big fan of the "This is SportsCenter" series, but this was definitely one of the weakest ones.

There were two with Alexi, including one where he was sitting on a desk playing his guitar and Olbermann walked over grabbed the guitar, smashed it, then handed it back to him.

Here's a partial archive:

I don't see the Alexi ones, but they do have the Charlie Steiner/Andrew Shue "trade".

Okay, this site has the one with Alexi Lalas and Tab Ramos (search for "Alexi") playing foosball

The Alexi/Olbermann one is also there (search for "inner peace")

There was also the one with Brandi Chastain playing foosball with Kevin Garnett. He scored a goal and they all waited for her to 'celebrate.'

Shevchenko is married to an American woman so its surprising but it makes sense.

You mean, Ukraine?

I don't know if you missed it, but the Soviet Union broke up about 15 years ago. :D

I really liked the one a few years back when all those MLS guys "hijacked the network". I think it was called The Takeover.
