Hi guys,
After reading this, nowhere does it say you have to produce identification if you have a valid ticket.
So what grounds are there to refuse you entry if the ticket is in a different name, but is valid, and you do not produce id??
EDIT : Is anyone comfortable drinking and carrying a passport!

Read 3.1
Upon entry and while inside the Site, visitors shall present their Entry Pass
and admissible proof of identity for inspection, when requested to do so by
stewards, security personnel or police officers.

The real question / subject of numerous discussions is whether they will REALLY check for IDs to match names on tickets.

Did anyone else see these comments by Blatter and Linsi on the Fifa site?
On ticketing
Blatter:
People must be able to make it to their seats. The German organisers are well aware of the need for an ongoing, flexible approach to access controls. If someone turns up at the turnstile and then has a problem with his ticket or his passport, it'll cause long queues at this turnstile. We don't want that. We still have 45 days until the World Cup and we'll work together towards a solution.
Linsi:
The problem is that we have two German ministries with very different priorities regarding ticketing procedures. The Interior Ministry would like the equivalent of a detailed seating plan, showing exactly who is sitting in every seat. The Consumer Protection Ministry says that infringes data protection law. Anyone wanting to pass a ticket to a friend or a family member has to give it back first, and it'll take too long to check and manage all that. Fans aren't used to this kind of thing. Our problem is we could end up with empty seats, but a World Cup must live and breathe, and be full of excitement. We want full stadiums. If transferring tickets looks too complicated, some people just won't bother going to the stadium. They'll simply not use their tickets, and we don't want that.

I can't believe how outspoken these guys are against the whole name check thing - at least someone seems to remember the empty seats in Korea. But maybe Sepp has tickets to a game that are not in his name :D

i think its all a bunch of bull crap this name checking.
scare tactic.
i spoke to a guy at work who went to the last world cup in japan/korea
he said that fifa used the same tactics that they would be checking names etc etc.
he went to a couple of games and saw that nobody ever got checked.
its all crap.
its like the guy says, they dont want empty seats.
ive been saying this for ages.
the amount of fans that will have tickets with their parents name or friends name is going to be massive.
if they check and deny entry to all these ppl, the stadiums are going to be pretty empty.
