I don't get it, why an Atlanta forum? Like they are gonna get a team in the next 20 years?
Is it because Atlanta Starts with a an A? What's next, moving to B for Birmingham forum then C for Chattanoga?
I didn't see anything that remotely makes Atlanta a player, no stadium, more importantly NO OWNER.... (which is the one that trumps anything else..)
Please help me with this, I know Atlanta is big, but where do they fit in with Big Soccer MLS expansion?

Please read threads for justification of why Atlanta is a possibility, nothing more at this point, and also note substancial member support for this forum. If you don't want to read about Atlanta then this probably isn't the forum for you.

I didn't say I didn't want to read, I just wanted to know if this is something other than a few member's wishing for something that isn't on the burner.....
I'd be the first to say go atlanta...... but I thought the forum threads were for cities that have legitimate shot.

I think there is a fairly legitimate shot, but as we all know, it seems that any city with an owner and a stadium has a legitimate shot. The bottom line is that Atlanta is of course a candidate and there were dozens of members here that requested this forum:

Go read the 20 Questions with Garber at MLSNet.com. In the pecking order for expansion, you can tell that Atlanta is about #5. Philly, Milwaukee, San Jose, and St. Louis are the only teams with more "positive language" than Atlanta. St. Louis and Cleveland (I didn't see Cleveland in that chat for some reason) are rumored to be the finalists for Team 14 in 2008. Philly will probably be Team 15, Milwaukee 16. So basically team 17 is anybody's guess because none of them have a stadium plan or ownership group. If Arthur Blank gets over his Braves thing and has an interest in soccer (his former company sure does), Atlanta is right there.
So aside from "oh I hate Atlanta", what facts do you bring to snoot up the place? :)
