We'll be talking soon. It took the drafters OVER A MONTH to finish, yet you want instant results? Ha! :D ;)

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Two of the judges have completed their judging. As soon as we hear from the third judge, we'll let you know.

Maybe a special subgroup jury prize could go to one of the lists that only included places we'd seen. I think Wingtips, chaski, and I were all playing this way. Anyone else?

I think a special notice is appropriate, but nothing more... I've been to many countries, but I didn't want to limit myself because of countries I hadn't seen. My list would have been very different had I played it that way. It still would have been good though.

I hadn't noticed but except for the 'Turning Torso' building I've seen all of my buildings.

Let's go tally the votes. In all cases the person voted... wrong show! :D

The Judges' decisions have been rendered and will be posted shortly.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

The obligatory preliminary words: It was a great draft ... blah, blah, blah ... everyone had some great selections ... blah, blah blah ... or at least thought-provoking selections (the thought being "WTF was he thinking?!?) ... but since you requested judges, you want to know who the winner was, and since anything below 1st place is a loser, we'll start with the 1st place award:

Getting the unanimous first place vote of all three judges ...

The WINNER OF THE INAUGURAL BIGSOCCER BUILDING DRAFT is ...

The man who was able to pick up Angkor Wat in the 2nd Round and Hagia Sofia in the 3rd Round ...

The man who wants us to think of Kermit the Frog when we think of him ...

Caesar.

Congratulations, Caesar.

We recognized (I believe I stated so repeatedly during the draft) that the juding was neither the point nor the relevance of the draft, which was much fun for the participants, judges and viewers, regardless of winners or losers. Some folks obviously chose to limit themselves to buildings they had personally experienced, which naturally limits their possibilities of winning.

And some folks clearly had a different sense of aesthetics than the judges - pick three different judges and you may well have had a different winner.

That said, I would personally like to thank you for allowing me the privilege of acting as a judge.

Good times all around. I discovered some I'd never heard of, was happy that y'all picked some I wouldn't have thought you'd pick and was disappointed you didn't pick some you should've. :D :p

Thanks for asking me to judge.
