Hey, they did what they had to. They were the better team in the first leg and managed to score...plus, Jens made a great save and Riquelme chocked.

Take off the anti-Arsenal glasses, every last one of you.
10 matches in a row without conceeding, they deserve to be in the final more than anyone.
They found something that works, and they used it.

If I were a Bayern Munich fan, I would be disapointed too.

i am sick of people saying that arsenal did not deserve to win...
people must be retarded if they cant remember the first leg where arsenal completely shitted on villareal and eneded up winning 1-0. in the second leg villareal shitted on arsenal the same as they were shitted on a week before, but could not win at home.
a team that does not score at home and cannot win a home match does not deserve to be in the champions league final. a team which does not concede a goal in the champions league for 10(!) staright matches against teams like real madrid, juventus and villareal, deserves to be in the final.

As a Villarreal fan I have no problem saying that Arsenal deserved to win this leg. Villa squandered every chance they had. if they had the finishing they did earlier in the tournament or last season they woudl ahve won that second leg 3 or 4 to 0. but no, THEY lost it, as much as I dislike Arsenal it is really stupid to say they don't deserve it.
That being said, I will revel in Barcelona's spanking of Arsenal in the Final.:D

Yesterday was a case of Arsenal wanted it more like they showed in the first leg.
You lost to a better team

I thought it was a classic display in the art of playing away in Europe myself.
Fair play to them, they got the job done, just as any *other team in the world would have played it.
After all these years, it still seems that some people are of the opinion that simply because the match header is 'Champions league', they are going to see football played without tactics and no eyes on the end result of the tie as a whole.
*Possible exception to the latest version of Barca.

Arsenal have ten clean sheets in a row, and are renowned for their attractive, attacking football. This is lining up to be a very entertaining final. Of course this means it will be 0-0 with no chances...

Yeah. I guess a big part of success is 'simply' break down the opponent in keeping them from playing like a "champions league" team. Arsenal's opponents just couldn't get into their game that those teams play to 'champion quality' in their leagues... in the way that past winners have done.

Heh I wouldn't be suprised at a FT 0-0. Probably some chances though, and maybe an ET goal or two. Even if it turns out 0-0 it will probably be a fairly entertaining 0-0 though.

It's funny how people have such short memories. All most people can remember is a team's most recent match.
You know, I don't think Chelsea deserved to win the Premiership last season because they only managed a 1-1 draw in their round 38 match against Newcastle.

Yeah, as entertaining as the Arsenal - Villarreal return leg where Villarreal had up to 65% ball possession, and Arsenal camping in their own half and holding on for their dear lives. Talk about an attacking team!

They were as attacking as Juve were at Highbury. Except Arsenal had a one-goal lead to protect, what was Juve's excuse?

Waht you mean is, that Arsenal finally grew up and matured, tactically speaking, in Europe.
