I haven't seen odds on this week's matches, but here's my very brief take on each of them.

Saturday, April 29

Real Salt Lake vs Los Angeles Galaxy - 4:00 p.m. - ESPN2
Sampson's back is against the wall. He's still fiddling with the starting eleven. Both teams need a result, but more is expected from LA right now. Galaxy wins 1-0.

D.C. United vs FC Dallas - 7:30 p.m. - DK
The biggest match of the week. I'm biased, but I don't consider Dallas to be that strong with their iffy defense. DC wins 2-1.

Columbus Crew vs Kansas City Wizards - 7:30 p.m. - HDNet
The Crew are better than their four points show. KC is a strong team, but I think Columbus will clog up the midfield enough to keep it close. Rozental appears to have the work-rate of a Clydesdale. Draw 1-1.

Colorado Rapids vs Houston Dynamo - 9:00 p.m. - DK
This should be a tight match even though the Rapids will be rested while Houston was stretched by RSL in week four. Rapids win 2-1.

Chivas USA vs New York Red Bulls - 10:00 p.m. - DK
I shouldn't take pleasure in the Red Bulls' pain, but they're looking really bad right now. Chivas is not the same team they were a year ago. Chivas wins 2-0.

Sunday, April 30

New England Revolution vs Chicago Fire - 3:00 p.m. - DK
Will this be the match that the Revs' offense shows up? Both teams are rested, but Twellman's pressure to make a statement will be too much for the Fire. Revs win 2-1.

From Bet365.com:

Book Closes - Fixture - Home - Draw - Away
Apr 29-16:00 - Real Salt Lake v Los Angeles - 2.75 - 3.20 - 2.30
Apr 29-19:30 - Columbus v Kansas City - 2.50 - 3.20 - 2.50
Apr 29-19:30 - DC United v Dallas - 2.20 - 3.20 - 2.87
Apr 29-21:00 - Colorado v Houston Dynamo - 2.37 - 3.20 - 2.62
Apr 29-22:00 - CD Chivas USA v NY Red Bulls - 2.50 - 3.00 - 2.62
Apr 30-15:00 - New England v Chicago - 1.83 - 3.25 - 3.75

Looks like the odds match my earlier comments.

Edit: I'm taking LA, DC, Colorado, and Chivas in a four play parlay. The Crew/KC match is up in the air and I'm too impatient to wait for the Sunday match.

As of 04/29 these are the current odds from sportsinteraction.com

Salt Lake 2.62 Draw 3.10 LA 2.35
DC United 2.10 Draw 3.10 Dallas 3.10
Columbus 2.50 Draw 3.10 Kansas City 2.50
Chivas USA 2.40 Draw 3.00 New York 2.65
New England 1.85 Draw 3.20 Chicago 3.70
Colorado 2.40 Draw 3.10 Houston 2.60

My solid picks today would be DC, Chivas and New England. Salt Lake and LA will Draw as will Columbus and KC. Colorado and Houston is a toss up for me, but I'll go with a Colorado win here.

You guys have me worried about my LA pick. :)

After already losing my EPL parlay today (no surprise since it was a long shot seven play), I put $1 on a Megaball drawing on Bet365 and won $71. Very first drawing, too. The same thing happened a couple of weeks ago after I lost another parlay.

Good luck to everyone on today's MLS matches. I'm taking my children to a minor league game tonight, so I won't know anything until I get back.

OK, I can get over the fact that my wager didn't go well, but was it just me or did most of the games just simply suck this week?
