Why do you think Borgetti will leave by next season?

wow borgetti's goal was fcking badass

most of his goals scored in europe have been with his legs, I remember when I used to think he was only good with his head. That is not the case anymore.

good for borgetti, I hope he has a very good world cup and does good things for Mexico.

That goal was pure class, he broke that guys ankles and just plain fired a rocket to the goalkeeper

That show if most of our NT players go play in Europe. They will become better and more complete players.

Thats not necessarily true but I'm glad Jareds scoring goals and becoming more versatile. I expect him to do very well in Germany

what do you mean by not necessarily true?

IMO any Mexican player that goes into a top Euro(Spain, England and Italy specificaly) team will improve their overall game. why? simply because there are many top players that forces one to bring up their level of play. i hope Salcido stays in an english team like manU... i can see him scoring a goal, like he did against uruguay, on arsenal or busting a Zizu on Terry, like he did on Colo-Colo LOL....

That'd be pretty sweet, or how about a Confederations Cup style goal against Chelsea running across half the field :D That's definitely up there with my top seleccion goals of all time.

I think Sid's statement comes from there being only a couple of fixtures left in the EPL, so there's not much material left to discuss about Borgetti in Bolton, won't be long before he's training with the rest of the seleccion.

He has a two year contract though. I don't think they'll let him go.

That's what transfer fees are for..;)
If he wants to go, and that is not a given, and another Euro team or Mexican team wants him next year, it wouldn't be a huge problem. His transfer fee wasn't large and Bolton wouldn't be in for any big loss financially and if he has a good WC they might even come out ahead.. Then again they could very well want to keep him. He is playing very well in the time he gets, IMO..
If he's not happy there they may very well let him go on a transfer.. I don't think they will fight his wishes hard. We just don't know the situation well enough to say as what other players on the team may or may not do in moving elsewhere will play big in it too.. And also who they might want to buy.
I would guess he wants to stay in Europe next year and likely with Bolton though. I'm just guessing. That's what Big Soccer if for..:p

Well thats what we have been having trouble with this whole year. They have refused to let him go, I don't think they will or will put a big price tag if he does well in the WC.

Thats your opinion. Unfortunately history has shown us that some of our best have not been successful abroad. Blanco, Palencia, Hernandez, and arguably until now Borgetti. Truth is we don't our best players going out to Europe or anywhere else for that matter in order to improve. It would be nice if given the proper chance, but it generally doesn't happen. Besides, they didn't need Euro experience to beat Brazil. Jared didn't need Euro experience to connect a beautiful pass from Cuauhtemoc to score one of the most beautiful goals in Mexican football history. The Mexican league is a highly competetive league despite what EA or other analysts may say. And if they're not going to get a fair shot abroad, I'd rather have them here.

first of all you must keep in mind that I said top Euro team, so I do not know why you are including hernandez in your post. Im not familiar w/ Palencia Euro career so i will not comment on him. As far as Blanco, who knows how different his career would be if he was not injured.

OK, who is "we" and tell me why they don't want our "best players" to improve?

Besides Marquez and Hugo, who else has played in a top Euro team?

Looking at the big pictures, those two examples you gave do not mean squat. The Mexican NT(senior) has not won any international tournament outside of Mexico, other than the gold cup:rolleyes: . Dude, honestly being able to beat Brazil should not be the Mexican NT's aspirations or for that matter the Mexican supporters. FVCI< that sh!t I want the Mexican NT to be WC Champs, the sub-17 has set the bar and anything below that does not do it for me.

Who cares what anyone else says about the MFL, I know it is a competitve league and im glad they participate in Copa Liberatodores, it is a good platform for Mexico's best players to jump to a top Euro team.

Luis Garcia was pichichi with Atletico Madrid in the early 1990s.

Pero si, desafortunadamente son muy pocos los mexicanos que han logrado triunfar en Europa.

Hugo, Buitre, Manolo, Bebeto, Romario, Bam Bam.

1990-1995.

Luis Garcia fue una fresa que solo se salva por defender a Cuauh, a Mexico y ser de UNAM.

And I said abroad. Palencia I don't recall if he was actually injured or just didn't get much of a chance like Jared is at the moment. But he played for Espanyol and only scored about 4 goals in the entire season.

I meant to put need in there. We don't necessarily need them to gamble their carreers in Europe like Borgetti is when they have it safe here in Mexico.

Besides Marquez and Hugo, who else has played in a top Euro team?
Negrete, Luis Garcia, etc.

I'm not saying it should be their aspirations. I'm saying they don't need to go abroad in order to maintain a competetive and world class team. It would be nice to have more Mexicans abroad as long as they are given a proper chance to prove themselves. Unlike whats been happening to Jared.

Who cares what anyone else says about the MFL, I know it is a competitve league and im glad they participate in Copa Liberatodores, it is a good platform for Mexico's best players to jump to a top Euro team.
Its also good enough for many Mexican players to stay and to continue to play in a competetive atmosphere without the danger of ruining your carreer.

Palencia played well in Espanyol. The proof is that the fans liked him... the problem is that it wasn't the right situation for him. They tried playing him as a Creative #10.... and of course that didn't work. They tried playing him up front.... but Espanyol couldn't generate anything... when he played as a 2nd Striker... he did a good job of winning, holding & distributing... but that is not what Espanyol wanted.

Then I think Espanyol had a change of DT... and that is when he lost playing time, if I am not mistaken.
