According to posters on http://www.dbstalk.com/ it is taking up to five weeks to get a 622 installed by Dish Network. I had to wait three weeks to get mine.

I just ordered my 622 and I was told to wait 30 days. Interestingly it's not the wait for the machine that delays things, it's the wait for the set up service. The guy mentioned that some cities have longer wait times then others and I may get set up sooner but doubtful.

So that's the wait time for a HD receiver right?
I got an SD 625 Dual receiver installed 3 days after ordering set-up I could have had it next day.

A regular HD receiver could be a different story--this is for the HD DVR.

It's taken me this long to call because of just buying the HD set, and only getting paid once a month.

Dish Network is using MPEG-4 compression technology for their newly added HD channels such as ESPN2 HD. Their old HD receivers used MPEG-2 compression technology. They have a 200-dollar price break for current Dish HD users who upgrade their equipment. This is causing the large demand of the new Vip622 HD DVR. The new Vip211 HD MPEG-4 receivers have a shorter wait time.

Really? I'm not saying you are wrong because I don't know about the wait times for the 211, but with my 622 I was told I'll get the receiver in the mail in ten days to two weeks and that I have to wait longer for the serviceman to set up the new dish. Splitting hairs a bit, but that's what the sales guy told me.

I got the wait times from reading posts on http://www.dbstalk.com/. The times vary from market to market. Mine took three weeks from day of order to the install date. If you buy your Vip622 HD DVR from a local retailer you can get it faster than a lease from Dish Network. The reason I started the post is to give people a head up on the possible wait time on the new 622 due to the up coming World Cup.:)
