Last year it was Hugo Sanchez turn to be the worst coach in MFL.... this year it seems to be Manuel LaPuente. Anti-Lapuente sentiment was brewing at the Monumento a la Independencia (better known by its nickname as the 'Angel'), during a failed march to demand better MFL treatment for Temoc... and to denounce America's pitiful form.

Will LaPuente follow Hugo's steps in to retirement... or will he make it through the end of the season?

Manolo has not been perfect this year. For instances the debacle with Aguado, I still have no clue what the bloody hell that was all about. Cue in Various with some wild theory. But just like Hugo, Manolo's leadership had brought us two titles and now we're going to Nippon to smash Tokyo with our Americanismo. Yes we'll be there for WCC, and for this I see hope. This season's lackluster performance falls on the aging crew we have. Injuries have caught up with us and a few players have not panned out. No need to dethrone the king.

I would not worry too much about it if I were americanista. After all is only de opinion of ten fans, wich is the number of people that attended that pro-jorobas march (according to radio formula).

One, this isnt a free forum. In case you missed it, when you signed up there were certain terms and conditions that you agreed to to have the opportunity (not right) to post.
Two, America has played poorly this season, and hasnt earned the necessary points to qualify. As of today, the Chivas club that everyone claims to be playing spectacular has exacly 3 more points than America. Thats one win more. Whats the difference? Lowered expectations for every club exccept america. Most clubs in the league consider a chance at the liguilla a good season, but at america, its championship or bust. That, to me, is a losers mentality for the other clubs.
Three, how big an idiot do you have to be to consider Hugo a bad coach, much less the worst in mexico. He won two championships with a fairly crappy club. Lavolpe, in all his years, with all his "deciples", his famous Atlas cantera, has won only one chapionship. Guzman, who was the hot comodity at tecos, has done poorly with atlas. Herrera has been lucky to get his team to the finals but has nothing to show for it. This year they loaded up, and they did worse. I think you need to revaluate you criteria for worst coach, the only thing that matters is winning championships.

i remember reading somewhere that lapuente would most likely not remain coach after this season, and they america was already looking at one of the trejo brothers. any truth to that?

I did like Tena's America. America should not have gotten rid of him. The LaPuente-Aguado-Carillo era has been a joke.

Tena could not manage both Libertadores and League... Lapuente was the 1st coach to be able to manage both tournaments.. he even won the league title while disputing the title...
the Lapuente era has been fruitful..
led the standings on 3 different occasions.. have 2 league titles...1 campeon de campeones... 1 semifinal appearance in the Copa Libertadores... historical unbeaten streak...have led the league in scoring muliples seasons. the use of youth systems (8 players that won the 2005 title were a product of America's youth system...
Carrillo has the best productivity in the history of America
but... what would you know... NOTHING like always

I don't give a crap about the numbers... with Tena, Carillo v 1.0, and Benhakker were the eras when I actually enjoyed watching America play.
Under LaPuente, Aguado & Carillo v 2.0,... only hardcore Huila fans can handle watching them play.... and even then they been booed. The only thing America fans haven't done is worn paper bags over their faces.

Carrillo's 2nd run was a lot funner and more productive. They scored more goals and if i recall.. were they not the best offense?

The Lapuente of 2002 was a fun team to watch. Watching the team play in copa libertadores and the league... they were fun to watch...
And you should care about the numbers... you can get lavolpilied with dog shyt about "playing open and offensive and that winning titles dont matter"... BULLSHYT... they do matter....

The most recent coach i liked was Beenhakker, they where really offensive... and also fun to watch in the libretadores. Beenhakker > Lapuente any day. I still dont get why they fired beenhakker! for the second time

I personally did not like America with Beenhaker.. at least not the 2nd time...
Beenhaker would take Blanco away from his usual role and would have him on the left side of the field.....I also did not like our wing play under Beenhaker... Our wings and d-mids would just get tangled up.... for some reason... under Beenhaker and Ruggerri... we could not get things done...just could not get the team clicking

Hahahahaha
Come on, You must be blind not to see how great the team that did not lose in 30 something games was playing.
They were kicking ass and taking names.
They were playing, so great that all these Chivas fans had nothing to say.
ANd now that the team is going through a dry spell, all the Chiva fans are coming out of nowhere to talk crap.
It must have been hard to keep your mouth shut, for almost a year.
Worry about you own dam team. Almost 10 years without a title is embarrassing.

Alright morons... listen up because I will only say it once. As a Non-Huilotas fan... I don't give a fly crap about your numbers & titles... I just care about watching entertaining futbol. If the Aguiluchas Chachalacas deliver good futbol... then I have no problem watching them... specially in Libertadores. Futbol, after all, is just entertainment... I am not low enough to have my self-esteem raised or lower by a team's result.
I don't care about what coach has better numbers... I am simply giving an opinion that I would like Tena back... and LaTaquache banished... simple - it is my opinion, nothing more... so get a life.
The only time I have liked LaPuente was at Necaxa, 1999 Confederations... and the 2002 Libertadores.... that it.
He is now a washed up, old man with nothing more to offer.

and you support Lavolpe?
Iam not trying to turn this into a lavolpe-lapuente debate...
i just find it odd that you have supported Lavolpe into this mastermind and that he has so many things up his sleeves.. but the Mexican NT has been playing entertaining footie in quite some time...
the games in Copa America and Confeds Cup... we played behind the ball...
