I am glad to see that two teams who have had a tough run of ties in the FA Cup have both reached the final.
Liverpool have had:
Luton (A)
Portsmouth (A)
ManU (H)
Brum (A)
Chelsea (Neutral)
Only one non PL side. We have had:
Norwich (A)
Blackburn (H)
Bolton (A & H)
Man City (A)
Boro (Neutral)
Again one CCC side and four PL sides. So I am glad in a way that we have not cruised it to the final, but instead shown that we can show the form of a top four club and beat four PL sides despite struggling at times. This may prove to be good preparation for the final as well.
Compare that to, say, Chelsea's fixtures:
Huddersfield Town (H)
Everton (A & H)
Colchester United (H)
Newcastle United (H)
Liverpool (Neutral)
and I'd say that we have done superbly.
