3. Hagia Sophia - Istanbul, Turkey
4. Palais Garnier - Paris, France
5. Museo Guggenheim Bilbao - Bilbao, Spain

7. Villa Hadriana - Tivoli, Italy
8. Parliament House - Canberra, Australia
9. Harmandir Sahib - Amritsar, India
10. Schlöss Augustusburg - Brühl, Germany
I tried to get a crossection of styles from throughout history and around the world, combined with a ton of different kinds of buildings in terms of function. Most are hopefully in one way or another the defining buildings of their type - with the exception of the Augustusburg castle. Its uniqueness mainly comes from Neumann's staircase, which is just too phenomenal for me to leave off. Call it a weakness in my final pick.
Buildings that came close to making the cut included Kansai Airport Terminal in Osaka (perhaps the engineering marvel of the 20th century, and the only manmade structure besides the Great Wall visible from space), The Kremlin, Lloyds Building in London and London City Hall. Also toyed with the idea of the Baths at Caracalla and Shah Mosque in Isfahan. It almost killed me that Schönbrunn Palace wasn't taken, but I really couldn't fit it into my draft once I realised it was still going to be available as late as it was.

Judging update. I've completed my reviews and conferred with the other judges. It may be a few days before their personal lives allow them to complete their reviews (one of the benefits of my being home sick in bed).
But since the draft is officially closed, and people have started to mention alternate selections that they didn't make, I'm going to start posting some of my "Highlights of the Overlooked" in the previous, Volume III thread (so as not to clog this one).
