The lack of a thread for this match sums it up perfectly.

It will be a shame if such an exciting season for the 2-4 spots continues to wind down in this fashion.

1. Stranraer is one of the strangest places i've ever been to, couldn't get out of that place quick enough (I hear strange creatures come out of the woods at night) and 2. Stranny better not be in the first next season :D

I experienced their fans when I went to a Dundee home game this season. Quite bizarre indeed. It must be a really strange place and one I would rather avoid if possible.

Yep.

I mean, a lot of places get a sort of bad rep as far as the locals go. Fife is perhaps the most notable example. But, from sitting near their fans at Cappielow, and from going on their message board, the people of Stranraer are genuinely strange.

The best part was a few old men sat right at the back of the main stand. One of them kept giving it the old "C'MON STRANRAER!" every 30 seconds or so, but his shouts were somewhat impeded by the fact that his mouth was just a gummy mess. A Morton fan nearby shouted something like, "Hoaw, Cheeko! If you're gonnae shout, put your teeth in first!" - fairly mild stuff, but the Stranraer fans up at the back - the four of them had a combined age of around 780 - started challenging him to a fight, waving their canes and saying "c'mere and say that!" It was golden.

That's the same type of stuff I experienced in the away end. I spent more time watching what was going on around me than the game.

It's surreal.I love Scotland and generally the people are brilliant but that place is just odd..like there is no contact with the outside world..cant put my finger on it but I've been there on 3 occasion and each time it has felt very weird...

The thing is, about the no-contact part, it's one of Scotland's premier ferry ports and is a gateway to Ireland. You'd think the Irish and tourists going through it would give a bit of cosmopolitan flair to the place.

Actually, on second thoughts, it's like a Scottish version of Dover: a town that acts as a gateway to another land, but is full of absolute oddballs of questionable heritage. Wonder what it is about port towns that makes that happen.
