Enter scores in the spreadsheet and standings are calculated automatically.
Uses Excel formulae - no scripts or macros. No advertising. No surprises. No sweat.
World Cup 2006 spreadsheet also available from same web page.
I programmed it carefully to conform to UEFA's lengthy tie-breaking
rules and it appears to work accurately, even in tightly-matched ties.

Thanks.
Seems a bit odd they put Switzerland and Austria in groups "A" and "B" respectively for Euro 2008. So theretically, you could have Swisse playing in Austria and Austria playing in Switzerland.

Group A in played in Switserland and group B in Austria. So they just play their groupmatches in their own country.
When they will end 2nd in their group, they will indeed play their QF in the other country, but you can't make a schedule in which both hosts will play all their matches in their own country. For Euro 2000 the Netherlands would also have to play their QF in Belgium if they hadn't won their last match versus France.

Well, if they made the QF's (for example):
A1 v C2 (in Basle)
A2 v C1 (in Basle)
B1 v D1 (in Vienna)
B2 v D2 (in Vienna)
I also think its stupid that the winner of A1 v B2 plays the winner of A2 v B1. So that implies you can play the same nation twice before the finals. That would be different than previous tournaments (as we saw in Euro2004, Portugal and Greece couldn't meet until the final).
Maybe that spreadsheet is just flawed.

That's strange indeed, but it is in the official schedule. I remember that it also was the case at the 2002 WC, where Brazil and Turkey played each other in the group and in the semifinal.

In the case of WC 2002 though, it was somewhat necessary. It was the only way to ensure that S. Korea and Japan both were guaranteed to play every match at home until at least the semis.
But with the Euro 2008 scheduling, they appeared to not guarantee home-advantage for Swisse and Austria nor do they guarantee that nations can't meet twice before the final.

Spreadsheet is not flawed: that's the official schedule from UEFA.
