I doubt McBride will be rested... while it doesn't look like they're in relegation danger anymore (10 points out of 19th with 2 more games remaining than the other battlers), Coleman is right... they still can catch a couple teams... and passing Villa, Man City, and M'boro would be pretty respectable.
McBride needs to stay on form anyway for the WC... just not overworked... 70 minute games seem likely.
This seems like more of a Yanks Abroad thread though.

I wouldn't complain at all if Brian's next match was with the US in May.

I don't blame those of you that want the Whites to sit McBride, but they really don't have any reason to do so. With so few matches left, we'll be trying to win them all, and resting your striker seems kind of counterproductive.

But on the other hand, there's really not a lot for Fulham to gain from here on out. Once relegation is no longer an issue and Europe isn't possible, you're not playing for a whole lot. Coleman may want to see what some other guys can do with the playing time.

Except that each position in the EPL pays out at the end of the year and Fulham think they can move up a place or two for the cash. No idea how much money we're talking, but that's the argument anyhow.

Hopefully McBride can still have at least one match off. We really need him in top form to put our best team on in June.

£500,000 per place. Not exactly chicken feed is it? Gain a couple of places and you're 1..6 million dollars better off.
As far as Fulham are concerned, McBride is their player. The USA team are only borrowing him for the summer (at no cost.) Why on earth would Fulham rest him for the World Cup?

Well put. And McBride will be given the rest that he needs by Arena and the US Staff. He may be rested in a friendly or two, since the US also knows what he brings to the table.

I think this answers our question.

the attitude in the states is the player is MORE a national team guy than a club guy....
sure, the club pays the bills, but when national loyalty is up for graps, it's country before club...
perhaps england should adopt a more profound country before club, it could aid them when it comes to national side performance

To be fair, that's like telling NBA clubs to rest their stars before the Olympics. When there's real money at stake these players know the side their bread is buttered on.
Yes, I realize an argument can be made for nothing to play for etc., but the truth of the matter is there is a fair amount of money to be made here, not NBA playoff money, but nothing to sneeze at either.
