Arsenal vs. Tottenham is live on FSC tomorrow as the early game.
Newcastle v. West Brom is the PPV match.

I know FSC's schedule is controlled by the EPL, so they have no say on what game is played when. But isn't the more compelling game usually the PPV match?

Newcastle is in 7th and West Brom will most likely be relegated.

Meanwhile, Arsenal is in the heat of the Champions League race and Tottenham is one spot above them.

Using common logic of "more people will generally pay for the better teams", shouldn't the Arsenal v. Tottenham match be on PPV?

And...I was looking at the schedule and the noon game is actually delayed coverage from 12 - 2. Then there's whatever programming until 2:30, Super Saturday from 2:30 to 3, and a delayed game at 3.

I can see the reasoning of having games at the same time each week, so viewers know when to tune in, but I question their logic of not running the two delayed games back to back. I also question their logic of running "Super Saturday" BEFORE their final game of the day...If Super Saturday is a show that highlights the action, wouldn't they want to highlight the 3 PM game? Or is there some clause preventing them from doing so?

The Arsenal X Tottenham game is broadcasted on Sky Sports 1 in the U.K.

As we all know, the 15:00 games in the U.K. cannot be televised domestically. In other words, the Premiership put the better matchups at 12:00, 17:15 as well as Sunday such that Sky Sports and Premiership Plus (season packages) can televise them.

The fact that these two Saturday games are televised on non-PPV in the U.S, while the 15:00 game is televised as PPV in the U.S. is purely accidental. The Premiership schedule games based on what games they want to give to Sky Sports in the U.K., not what games they want Fox Sports International to sell as PPV in America.

This Saturday, there is no 17:15 game because of the FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Liverpool.

The best games of the week are frequently not on PPV. This season there have been games involving the Big 4 (Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Pool) that have all been shown on FSC including ones that involve 2 of the 4 playing each other. The PPV game usually involves the best game that can be shown live at 10 am eastern, I think this week they did pick the best option as none of the games scheduled for that time are very good.

I'm a bit confused as to the point of your post. Are you complaining that you don't have to pay for the better game?

As for the scheduling, they probably try and keep it consistent for people that just set their DVRs to record. If you read the topics regarding ESPN2's switching of the times for the Champions League match a couple weeks ago you'd realize that moving time slots around really angers people. There is also plenty of stuff for them to show highlights of as they never seem to have a problem filling Super Saturday even though it usually runs longer than a half hour. Instead of highlighting the game at 3 they usually have a small preview of it.

I am. I demand more PPV games. PPV is America's true soccer channel! :D

No additional graphics (FSC logo, ESPN logo, etc.) on the screen, no annoying FSC idiot announcer (Max, Christian, Mark) to mute. If you have the money, or there's a pub nearby, go PPV. Besides, it beats waiting 3 or 4 days for the game to be shown on FSC.

I'm certainly not complaining that the better games are on live FSC though, even if they are at 7 AM EDT in the morning. Sort of like finding a $20 under the bed.

Gotcha. I just got FSC last summer, so i'm still trying to learn all the details of the scheduling process.

I was being funny of course. For me, there's no way I'm ever paying $20 for a game. It's crazy how you can get a game for free at 7:30 AM ET and a game for free at 12:00 PM ET, but for a game in the middle you have to pay $20. No thanks. I like the EPL, but I'm not paying $20 for a single game in any sport.
