OK, World Cup pre-game preparations list.
1. Get Nike US home shirt - check
2. Get June 12th and 22nd off - check
3. Get SI, ESPN and 4-4-2's WC preview issues - not out yet
4. Figure out with whom and where I'm going to watch games - not yet.
5. Set TIVO to record every World Cup tonight and similar broadcasts on FSC/ESPN - will do.
6. Look into long-sleeve WC-related t-shirts - Maybe. Not sure yet.
7. Print out/save CNNSI's capsule of each country - check.
8. Save NYT/WPost WC preview articles - When they arrive.
9. Arrange sked to watch 3 warm-up matches - gotcha.
What else am I missing ??

My usa pants just came in the mail !!!! They are all blue and stars on the right leg , with red and white stripes on the left . haha I cant wait to wear those badboys in Germany !

Plane tickets
Hotel Rooms
To do:
Get that last ticket to Holland-Ivory Coast
Buy rail pass and reserve seats on long journeys
Do nothing but think about my trip
We are doing pretty good so far I guess.

1. Tickets to a match - done
2. Airplane tix - done by the grace of my parents wallet (and some convincing of plane tickets for a graduation present)
3 Rail pass - ordered the other day
4 Reservations - will do once the passes are in
5 Transfer my 3rd ticket to another friend - will do come May 1st and if FIFA and the OC will be kind enough to accept my legit (for real!!!) request
6 - Lodging in Nuremburg - Taken care of
7 - Graduate High School - still workin on that one...

Ack, one more giant ripoff to worry about. I got the statements for my credit card (MBNA) with the WC tix. They nailed me for 3% on every foreign transaction. This is a relatively new charge, and banks do not seem to do anything to earn it. I really do not want to pay a 3% bank tax on my entire trip.
I did some checking, and CapitalOne seems to be the only major card that does not have this charge. I checked ricksteves.com, and the bulletin board there confirms the no fee policy is still their policy. If they can just keep it for two more months. . .
So, I just sent in my application this morning.

yes actually I should apply as hostes for USMNT during world cup.
