I know as fans we have very little input as far as this goes, but, imagine we did. What would your choice for club colors be?

For me, growing up in the late 70's, early 80's I loved the Phils road uniform. What about a Aston Villa/West Ham type scheme that involves claret (Maroon) and Blue (Sky/Carolina). The marketing would be key, but the city still feels an affinity to those colors because of the wins they represent in our collective memory, and the sky blue would help soccer jersey sales in the urban market.

Sky Blue would help urban soccer jersey sales? Uhh....Why?

I like the light blue-maroon color scheme.

But I also like forest green as a primary color, with a light tan secondary color and navy blue trim.

Benchwarmer32 created these awhile ago, I post them here for fun introspection

Mimicing the Rowan color scheme might makes sense.

And if the Rowan color scheme sucks, then change it to something the MLS team could mimic.

I'm not sure if "suck" is the right term, but its not the best scheme/logo.

You could mimick by going with Maroon and Gold/yellow.

It would also be a nod to the NASL Fury.

That's pretty bad...I'm in favor of the team's identity not being tied 100% to the university...

I think tying to the university isn't a bad idea. Like I said, if brown and yellow doesn't work for you (and I can't imagine why it wouldn't, other than being hideous), maybe the college will change for kickoff in 2009.

Other towns like Pittsburgh have common color schemes, as the Penguins, Steelers, Pirates, and University of Pittsburgh all wear black and yellow.

Hey, if it helps students there feel like it's their team, and they turn out for the games, that's a tremendous boost both financially and atmosphere-wise (especially the way college students behave at games).

I'm not saying name the team the Profs or anything (wow that's an awful name), but this college thing could be a nice bonus for us. Especially with the university's expansion plans.

I don't think it would be too much for Rowan to switch the Brown to Maroon. An added benefit is that the Glassboro Public Schools use Marroon and Gold as colors.

That way, if they are called Philadelphia or some other regional name, they can claim the local colors as a compromise to the area.

I like stripes generally on soccer jerseys - but please not the first one. Do you want to go through your existence known as the Barbers? The Phalanx one with the white and black stripes doesn't look bad at all.

I know maroon is a local color in Glassboro, but doesn't MLS have enough "red" jerseys? And I know maroon isn't red, but it's a shade of red. Make it like Palermo, make it pink!

I would love something gloriously ugly, perhaps mimicking the Norwich color scheme? I find this loud and almost offensive combination of colors to be strangely appealing...

Oh. My Bad. I thought after I posted that, it was because Philadelphia's flag contains sky blue, then I would ahve really thought you were wonkers...

Benchwarmer32 is working up some kits with Claret and Blue -

I'd definitely like something unique in MLS

Red/White - 2 (Dallas/Chivas)
Black/Blue - 1 (Colorado)
Navy - 1 (NE)
Red - 2 (NY,Chi)
Yellow - 1 (Clb)
Black - 1 (DC)
Orange - 1 (Hou)
Gold - 1 (LA)
Blood/Navy/Yellow - 1 (RSL)
Blue - 1 (KC)

Carolina/sky as a primary, because it is a city color, would be cool. I have a feeling the Rapids are returning to Green. Orange has been done now. Black and White Stripes might be cool.
