I am considering altering my logo and getting a new one

here are my last two

I don't really have any restrictions, I'm just looking for new ideas on what I could do logo wise. I am not particial to the colors either so if you have an idea to change the colors please tell me as well.

I plan on using these suggestions and taking them to Qamle and asking him if he'd make me a new one. He's the one that designed the Rangers X logo.

Are you keeping the 'ready' motto? If you are, you could look into some military colors for a vigilance theme, some dark greens and black or something.

Or keep the lion and move towards a grasslands/savanna theme. Gold, sky blue, bright green. The savanna...of Missouri...

Or scrap 'em both and make the theme more totally Raytown-centric, about Raytown Road and maybe more of a more old-time downtown feel...dark brown, brick red.

I dunno.

Really I just took the Rangers logo and changed Rangers to Raytown Rangers. If I were to keep something from the logo, I'm thinking of keeping the red lion in it somewhere, possibly taking a mirror image of the lion and have the 2 of them holding a shield. I just gotta figure out what kinda of shield I want in there.

one thing I do want to add to the shield is something with the guy in this logo for Raytown, which is for Ray's blacksmith shop, the guy the town is named after.

Finally sucked it up and did a logo. Yeah, it's crap but, I am no photo shop guru, feel free to give me ideas to improve it.
