Anyone have a link to audio or a transcript for the press conference?
Approximately 7,500 tickets have been sold for the game.
We're hoping that ticket sales continue to go along very, very well, because if we're successful, hopefully, we'll be one of the top candidates for a World Cup qualifier down the road.
7,500 tickets is going "very, very well"? Yikes.

I don't think we're ready at the forward position, but I do like the
team and the health situation(knock on wood). Obviously McBride
needs to get his groin situation taken care, but I'm sure the German
woman can work her magic there.
Hopefully Arena names a large number of reserve forwards.

When was the last time the U.S. played in front of either 1) 75,000 fans in the United States or 2) a sold-out stadium over 50,000 capacity?

do WCQ's at RFK count?
September 1, 2001
Honduras
2-3 L
RFK Stadium (Washington, D.C.)
54,282
or to more technically answer, since part 2 did not include the USA territorial requirement:
March 22, 2006
Germany
1-4 L
Dortmund, Germany
64,500
the largest crowd the USMNT ever played in front of in the US looks to be:
June 26, 1994
Romania
0-1 L
Pasadena, Calif.
93,869
away from home:
July 25, 1993
Mexico
0-4 L
Mexico City, Mexico
120,000
obviously, they do not do well with very large crowds in the stands.

if 12,000 to 18,000 fans show up in Nashville, I'd be content.

That would not be a success. I would expect 25-30K and be thrilled with 35K.

Here's some more big USA crowds (sample and not including WC):
6/16/1996 vs Mexico - Rose Bowl - 2-2 - 92,216
2/15/1998 vs Mexico - LA Coliseum - 0-1 - 91,255
6/4/1998 vs Mexico - Rose Bowl - 1-0 - 91,123
1/21/1996 vs Guatemala - LA Coliseum - 3-1 - 88,000
7/5/1996 vs Argentina - Legion Field (Birmingham, AL) - 83,183
There are about 15 more crowds over 50K like this in the last 15 years..

Of the 5 you list, 3 are vs Mexico, another was a double header with Mexico vs Brazil, and the final one was an Olympic game - the U23s actually.
My point being that the possibility that the presales for a midweek game against Morocco are currently 75,000 is utterly ludicrous.
