Yeah - give me some spacy guitars and that psychedlic feel. I know Jimi and the Jefferson Airplane. How about some new things? I'm loving Soundtrack of Our Lives these days and Luna, too. What else is out there that's new?

I've always been a Doors fan. And Jefferson Airplane (not that Starship crap), Strawberry Alarm Clock, Jimi Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone, The Beatles, Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Traffic, et al.

More modern, like Teardrop Explodes, Psychedelic Furs, Kula Shaker, The Verve, Amp, Robin Hitchcock, The Flaming Lips, Beck, other stuff like that, and the rave artists like Moby, Aphex Twins, The Verve, Spacemen 3, Orbital, Orb, etc.

I haven't done any acid in a long time, but for some reason I feel like doing some now. :)

Some Phish and a little bit of crazy herb will make you space out.

This thread would not be complete without mentioning Iron Butterfly.

Some Microdot, a lava lamp and Ina Godda Davida on the Hi-Fi was a pretty good way to spend a Friday night.

The first 3 or 4 Starflyer 59 albums are wonderfully trippy guitar laden, layered, super textured albums.

For the ultimate modern psychedelic album, I would recommend the Prayer Chain's "Mercury." That album will flip you out. There are these amazing washes of guitar. Best listened to in intense afternoon summer sun.
