In Italy,
Francesco Totti was off and running away with another great season. He was well on his way to another 20+ goal season which is outstanding from a player of his position. Since his injury, I would have to give the award to Luca Toni as he is nearing on 30 goals and his play this season has been well above his expectations. Emerson on Juve was also having a great season for the first three quarters of this season.

King is great but he's not even the best defender in England (Terry). For England overall it has to be Lampard.

No love for the Hunter? he sure seemed to make a big difference for H'veen and Ajax.

Neither is Terry, who isn't even the best defender on his team. Overall, I think one Wayne Rooney might disagree with you assessment.

Lampard maybe, but he had a bad patch between January and now, although he looks to be out of it. I don't think there is one player who has really stood out above all the others.

He may not be the best on his team as far as technical ability is concerned (that might be Gallas), but when you combine technical skill with the ability to read the game, leadership, heart, drive, and desire he is the best in England without a doubt.
