Of course, that doesn't mean I think it's accurate. :)

I really don't understand these rankings. I thought our official ranking would absolutely plummet after the debacle in Germany, and instead we move up one? To fourth place no less?

We're even ranked above Argentina now.

I mean, I love our boys as much as the next guy, but even I laughed loudly and uncontrollably when I saw that.

The rankings factor in the best seven results per 12-month period over the last 8 years. So one loss isn't going to plummet you.

Our ranking is kind of fun at first, but after a while, it just because annoying...we know we're not the 4th best team in the world...any US fan who thinks so is delusional...

But it sure gives Euro fans the opportunity to accuse of thinking we are the 4th best team in the world, which is again annoying.

I really wish there were no FIFA rankings.

More and more I find this funny and amusing. All that matters is how we do in the World Cup. Granted, these rankings will go a LONG way to help us in the 2010 World Cup (by means of being seeded) so long as we don't flop in this one. But still, 4th?! :D

yeah, its pretty silly, but that can happen when you go by objective point-based means... if they make the quarters of WC again, then we can start talking about being a top 5 side

Hell yeah .
I can always use a good laugh.As long as we don't pass BRASIL.That would be too embarrassing and with FIFA you never know.And all this after having played possibly the two worst games I've ever witnessed.The ITALIAN and ENGLISH fans will surely love this.To quote U2 .It's a beautiful day.

Given that Arena's tenure is now just under 8 years, the rankings are finally cleaning out the pre-Arena era results.

This is some kind of weird April Fool's Joke on the rest of the world, right?

Now if we don't at least reach the semis in Germany this summer it will be a huge disappointment and Arena should resign in shame. ;)

Wonder if we'd be seeded if they redid the WC groups right now given current info, though...

however the FIFA ranking does not play any important role.

the biggest ranking will be done in few weeks in Germany - WORL CUP RATING:)

the important is how your team will be in the world cup....if they manage to be 4., then it would be better than 4. in Fifa ranking.

Fifa is just such statistic stuff.....:)

this is getting rather silly.

shouldn't FIFA take this stuff as a sign that it's perhaps time to re-configure their formula?

I've never said this before about these rankings, but what a fukcing joke. We're pretty good, but not that good (yet).
