The burning question is will these games be available on the shootout package or am I faced with the prospect of not being able to watch my team play when they are on Fox?
from the information that was being passed around before this article came to light... mls was looking for a channel to show the matches that weren't aired anywhere else... espn2, local feeds, shootout
and i believe that fsw wouldn't want to do these games if you could get them another way here in the states... it simply wouldn't make much sense to either party

Thank God for FSW. They've made a pain in the ass winter just that more bearable. As a soccer junkie they give me my daily fix. And now if they add MLS to the deal it'll be heaven.
For all the folks whose cable companies don't/won't carry FSW, maybe an organized campaign to show interest would help. Like anything else in this country, money talks. If they see people really want it, it might make them think twice.

What kind of crap-ass satellite provider do you have?
DirecTV only requires you to pay $12/month for the Sports Pak (in addition to whatever basic programming package you might have) to get FSW. And on DISH Network, the $43/month America's Top 150 basic programming package includes FSW.

This is kinda wacky since I just sent FSW an email asking them to show MLS highlights on FSW Report.

This is all great news, now that Comcast is dropping FSW from digital cable here in San Francisco. You just can't win being a soccer fan in America.

There's no reason anyone shouldn't be able to get FSW in the US.
Shoot, if *I* can afford a dish (which are being given away practically) than anyone can. And there's always pestering your local cable ompany and *threatening* to get a dish, even if by some stroke of magnificence, you can't.
Or, Christ, make a friend who has a damn dish.
No excuses.

Your not following what I'm saying, I can't live without FSW, of coarse I will be getting a dish. It just doesn't seem right that they are adding an MLS show to FSW, and then dropping FSW from an MLS market.

So what about times? Would Fox Sports World matches be on at at different time each saturday from the ESPN broadcasts? Anyway I think this is a good thing.

If ANYONE complains, anyone at all, about this, I'm going to kick you in the teeth. We ought to all be down on our knees thanking MLS, ESPN, and Fox Sports for this s**t.
I propose that bitching about this be an automatic Bigsoccer RED CARD.

My guess is that they'll air evening games - 7 or 7:30 Eastern, maybe later if it's a west coast match. There's no way they'll run them at the same time as ESPN2. Besides, the only reason the ESPN2 games air in the afternoon (and not in the evening) is b/c that's the timeslot they made available to MLS.

My question was stupid. Simply because I forgot that ESPN games are on in the afternoon. I'm sorry.

A grain of salt though...they are 'nearing' an agreement, and while I am on my knees as well praying for this, I'll wait until I see it in black and white from both MLS and FSW...also in that article, I saw the GolTV is offered on Dish Network, which I also have, but I haven't seen anything about it. Anyone know the details as far as ordering it? Availability?
Cheers...

Anyone willing to speculate if this potential *agreement* works what the implications in the future could be for MLS and MLS on telly?

FSW is simply the Channel of the Gods.

Before FSW, I used to get live soccer only once or twice a month with no energy and no stamina. But NNNNOOOOOOWWWW . . . I get to watch live soccer like every single day.

Well, one issue is clearly: what is the relationship between FSW and the Fox broadcast network? I presume that they're two distinct entities as far as sports programming goes and that Fox was probably offered the "rights" to broadcast MLS games but demeurred. I can't imagine that this would immediately tranlate into increased coverage on Fox, and neither can I imagine that FSW will pay a whole lot of money to broadcast their Saturday night game of the week.
The long and the short of it? We'll take what we can get when we can get it; it's a long road to haul, said Sysiphis, as he inched his rock slowly forward.
I'm very happy with what we have and am thinking of getting the Shootout package--is it available on ATT Digital Cable?

If you watch soccer with no stamina, or just want to watch it more often, get FSW. Its fan tested and approved to be good, accurate soccer and more than X million people have watched it.

Good lord, could they possibly show a different advert? I mean us whippersnappers don't want to think about old folks going at it with rejuvinated vigour. :D
I suggest more swimsuit commercials.
