With European qualification within our sight and so few games to go, every point is that much more crucial. Three points against Liverpool would really make that Champions League spot look that much more attainable.
Luckily we'll nearly be at full strength, with only Tugay missing out with a calf injury and Sinama-Pongolle absent due to not being allowed to play against his parent club.
We've been amazing at home so far. Hopefully a full house will be on hand to give us that little bit extra for this one.

the ref was an appaling today.there goal should not have stood. cisse was 3-4 yards off side and that cost us a point at least but we never really created that much in the game to get all 3 points.

Just got time to watch this one last night.
The goal was crap. But we were uninteresting. Everything was about the counter/long-ball-center and they were playing so deep that they had it shut down.
In the second half we looked a lot more dangerous when we slowed down and got build-up down the sides. Of course then we showed we were vulenrable to the counter. At least we would have been if the linesman had understood the rules...
We might have deserved a point with the men on the field, but we probably should have had a couple sent off. The ref really didn't seem to know what he was getting in to with this match.

Absolutely awful. I hated Cisse before (for multiple acts of stupidity concerning after goal celebrations as well as his lack of knowledge of how a footballer should carry himself), but now I have even more reason. Did you see the stupid look on his face when he nearly touched the ball with his foot? How can you say that isn't offsides.
Yes, FIFA wants to stop calling the offsides that have nothing to do with the play, but just because someone doesn't touch the ball doesn't mean that they are not in the play. If so, then that is how the rule should be written. My local side got burned on this two weeks ago when they were playing NY Red Bull. There was a free kick right outside of the box, so D.C. United (you know, the side that the stalwert defensemen Nelson came from) bulit a wall, with their final defenders. Two Red Bull Players stood on the 6 yard box to distract the keeper, Troy Perkins. The free kick went in the net, eventhough his vision was blocked by the Red Bull players. No offsides was called.
I hate the new interpretation of the offsides rule. I think that the refs do not know how to call it because FIFA will not give a solid ruling. I think that the leagues like the Premiership, La Liga, Serie A, MLS, and other should put MASSIVE pressure on FIFA to define the ambiguity that is the offisides rule.
Now I will step off my soap box and get back to work.
