Probably no accident that it's very Conservative Party friendly with all the blue.

Meanwhile, Infrastructure Canada said yesterday that federal, provincial and municipal governments must still sign off on their financial commitments to the project before it is sent to the federal government's Treasury Board for final approval.
Kevan Pipe, chief operating officer of the Canadian Soccer Association, was confident that funding will be secured despite concerns that the federal government may backpedal on its $27-million commitment to the project.
"There is nothing under the table," Pipe said. "Everything is on the table and we have been very upfront all along the way about Treasury Board and contribution agreements. The project has received ministerial approval, it has now been directed to all three levels of government, and we are just committing to follow that process."

For the Harper rightwing conservatives to renege on this project which now has a relatively high domestic and international profile would be an acute embrassment to the Harper conservatives domestically and internationally and a really dumb thing to do considering the bulging treasury in Ottawa thanks to the previous government.

During the election campaign Monte Solberg said that all infrastructure commitments would be honoured so I don't think it's an issue. It would be analogous to canceling Winter Olympics 2010 funding in Vancouver and that sort of thing doesn't happen very often in G7 economies.

Probably no accident that it's very Conservative Party friendly with all the blue.
I didn't consider that angle. But really, would a logo be used to pander to those currently in power? The 2005 logo was awash in orange and blue, with Orange being the colour that represents Holland. The CSA could have chosen a more red dominant scheme with perhaps a white leaf and be justified in doing so. But a red leaf is more prominent than a white one. I figure the blue was used just to complement the red leaf. I just don't want to think the CSA wood stoop to quietly nodding to those in power by incorporating their colour into the logo....but it could be the case?
