Serbia & Montenegro lead 1-0 vs. Portugal through a Ze Castro own goal in the 1st half.

Let's hope the S n M beats Portugal and France will take care of S n M next.
It's going to be a steeper mountain to climb against the host if Portugal gets something out of this match!

Eilts is p****** me off! Why did he make so many changes? Lehmann was captain against S n M and now out?

It sounds funny but we totally dominated France in the first half. We didn't score though and that was because Kießling was alone up front. Eilts should have opted Niemayer for Rafeal from the beginning. After the first goal the team broke down. I wonder why. Germany didn't play bad though. They were very unlucky in my opinion and the result doesn't reflect the game.
With guys like Polanski, KP Boateng and Trochowski we'd win this tournament easily.

There was not too much between the two teams before Pongolle's goal. This is a solid team, they just have to work on keeping together and not panicking so easily.
Portugal's up next, all or nothing!

Portugal 1 Germany 0
France and Serbia-Montenegro advance. :(
Did anyone hear watch the game. There seemed to be a flurry of yellow cards in the final 15 minutes of the game, with Rensing being subbed for Fromlowitz.

It turned out the U21 suffered defeat and disqualification from advancing further because of some foul plays.

Wasn't there like 7 minutes added time against Portugal?

Yes , ForeverRed, the ref added 7 min extra time during which Portugal scored at the 4th minute. It all appeared to me the U21 was unlucky not to advance to the semi-finals.

Sorry, but what kind of player are Kevin-Prince and Jerome? In know Kevin is a CMF but he is a defensive CMF or an attacking CMF? Good tackler or average? Etc., etc.
Though I live in Africa now (from Europe) and sympathise with Africans who want their players to represent their countires you can't blame Kevin for wanting to play for Germany. After all, he's spent his whole life in Germany and don't feel much Ghanian necessarily...

He's an attacking midfielder but probably the most overated player in the Bundesliga.
3-5 good games a season won't do it.

It would'nt be a big loss if he decides to play 4 Ghana.
Jerome is a CB/RB.

Give the guy a break, he's only 20. He might be an overrated prospect, I agree, but this year (if he stays for Hertha) we'll finally get to see him for a full year.

Plus his mom is German and his maternal grandfather is a cousin of Helmut Rahn. :)
Watching the U19 play Russia right now. (U19 EC)
Pretty good game so far.
1:0 Nils Pedersen (CZ Jena) after a nice counter-attack.
Cross Ben Hatira, shot Özil, saved by the goalie right on Pedersen's foot.
Ben Hatira best player in the first 10 minutes.
2:0 Özil (Schalke 04)
Ben Hatira (Hamburger SV) no-look pass to Sauter (VfB Stuttgart), nice cross to Özil in the middle who just had to tipp it in.
It's still 94°F in Steyr and much hotter in the sun and that's exactly how the Germans are playing right now.
More chances for the Russians. Germany is only counter-attacking.
Finally a corner now.
60 minutes played and Russia AT LEAST deserves a draw.
Germans are playing terrible right now.
Goalie Männel (Cottbus) had about 10 spectacular saves already. He's quick.
3:1 Kruse (Bremen).
