lol...and i heard hans peter briegel is his assistant!!
:D Awesome.
Tomrak's header must have been to Hrubesch's liking.
However, I think we're mainly seeing the crimes that are being committed in the clubs...the way they play, I seems like they train a lot of time 11vs11 and very little ball skill, even more so than at senior level.
2) Spain is actually the strongest team in this group consider they already have a number of player like Camacho, Azpilicueta, Aquino, Niguez are already in the rotation of the professional team in various clubs in the La Liga.
Interesting that they're calling up those players, with the German team it looks like everyone who basically is on the verge of becoming a Bundesliga player isn't called up anymore (Kroos, Marin, Fischer, Pezzoni), so that does seem to put Spain's successes into perspective.

Gebhart n Kroos were actually both in the same team for the U17 Euro team in 2006. Gebhart was less recognized since there were higher-profile players like Kroos and Marin.
And he was used as a winger if i remembered it correctly........together with Marin on the left to support M.Fischer(CF). So he wasnt that effective in that years tournament
But heard that he's on Klopp's shopping list before and since he played so well today, maybe some scouts may contact his manager sometime. There are many scouts in todays game. I mean Many!

I thought it was sammer's job to sort this out?

Nsereko looked average.............i hope Naki will replace him next match.
Holtby n Felix Kroos are also versatile, skillful n intelligent players who can play wide, i do think they're both better than Nsereko in terms of quality. Kinda miss them in the team.
Our attack could be a lot worse if the only 1990er Sukuta-Pasu has not been brought to the team.

Not within two years... And his influence will be limited anyway.
I don't mind if we don't win these competitions as at these age levels first team club football should take precedence if possible IMO (and I think they should always call up and support those with the best perspective, not necessarily those who are currently the best), but I do like their emphasis on using success in these tournaments as a benchmark of progress in youth development. It can be a good indicator of depth.

Good enough as a unit to beat Spain not undeservedly, which seems quite a feat, just looking very poor whenever trying to keep the ball.

I don't think there were "highlights" to speak of.
Germany attacked swiftly after winning the ball, that resulted in one goal and one good shot. Otherwise they were dangerous on set pieces (another goal).
Spain barely produced anything but scored on the one occasion in which they had numerical advantage.

so they were not like the technically very proficient u17s from last year

Bulgaria is rather weak n for Hungary, how are we gonna deal with Nemeth(Liverpool), the joint top scorer together with M.Fischer in the 2006 U17 Euro, will be the key to win. but they should be easier to handle than the Spanish
Germany doesn`t have to be afraid of players with names like Nemeth or Nemec :D.

if u miss players like Kroos and Marin then the game changes ofc.
Though i think the tactic was clearly not to keep the ball long and dominate the game. It was obvious that the german team always tried to play the ball very fast upfront which often lead to easy ball loses but on the other side when germany came in the front of the spanish goal it looked always more dangerous than spains tries.
Then there is also the problem that someone like Vrancic who was the "mind" in the midfield of this team not too long ago has now a form crisis and players like L. Bender and Naki were suspended.
So overall considering the problems (there is a reason 2 totaly new players - Sukuta-Pasu and Toprak - made their debut) the team has it was a good first match.

I think he's in the same boat as Özil, in order to get his German passport (Toprak got his last week or even this week) he had to give up his Turkish passport but I don't know if he would get it back if he he really wanted to play for Turkey.
Why go through all that trouble if he would want to play for Turkey?
For those who didn't see the game, I found a great analysis here:

The guy posting there cannot be English, he's always saying "Germany" rather than "the Germans".
Or maybe "ze Germans" is the senior team only.
