Yea didn't he fall out with Nike by accusing them of using "stand up speak up" as a marketing tool to make more ££££

Interesting, especially since Adidas bought Reebok -- I had heard of the two distinct brands potentially divided by sports and lifestyle in the future (with Adidas obviously the sports brand.) However, though Adidas just replaced Reebok as the NBA brand, Reebok still pitches athletes like AI, along with lifestyle people like Jay-Z.

Giggs is the only Reebok guy I can think of in soccer. How big is Reebok in the UK (Liverpool and Bolton jerseys, right?)

since adidas owns rebook, money wasnt a big issue, since adidas has plenty of that. and adidas will probably make rebook cleats way better.

I have it from a good source in adidas that reebok soccer will be scrapped and their contracted playerrs will either be in adidas boots or released from their deals.

Also Henry has a five year deal with Nike that is worth 9 million pounds that went into effect in Oct. 2002. That would lock him up until 2007 at least. I doubt that Nike would let one of it's biggest stars go to it's biggest rival while he is still under contract to them and playing for one of thier biggest teams froma marketing perspective.

Also if he does go to either Inter or Barca they are massive Nike teams as well and they would not want to loose the cross promotion.

I have only found this info on the site you supplied and no place else, so I am not going to take it as the truth until I see it or hear it from my Nike rep or Adidas/Reebok rep.

Here is the link to the info with his Nike deal http://www.soccernet.com/england/news/2002/1001/20021001afchenry.html

when the actual press release is official then ill believe it.

he still has a several good years left in him (i'd say at least five in the fitness level he's in). i think nike is going to lock henry with a fatter contract than the one 'offered' by adidas.

It can't be real, the article is littered with lies:

The signing of Henry, whose positive image was reinforced by his appearance in Nike's "Stand up, speak up" anti-racism campaign - is a notable coup for Reebok as it pushes its brand in Europe. HAHAHAHA

As Much as I hate the guy, This is great deal for Adibok. Maybe they'll put some money into Reebok's soccer line. With someone like Henry they have something up their sleeve.

Also Reebok has the NHL jersey deal. Kinda funny they mentioned the NBA deal, but not the NHL deal. Apparently no one cares except me!!

Don't forget Iker!

Reebok soccer is terrible though.

I don't know what Thierry is thinking.

I doubt it's true.

Just to let it be known I am not bagging on Red&White by my earlier post, I would have done a WTF if I saw that article before anyone else too. I just don't trust the media outlet supplying the info.
