I'm looking to buy an old David Beckham Manchester United Jersey. I've been looking on e-bay for a while and have not found one that will fit me, even though it is more of a collector's item for me. I am looking for a size Adult small or medium, in the red home kit, any year will do, as long as it has the #7. Does anybody know if he had a different number in the very beginning of his career with Man Utd? Please respond or PM if you have this jersey and are willing to part with it and let me know how much you want to sell it for. I live in the United States so please let me know if shipping will be a problem.

thanks

I'm pretty sure that subside have them actually. They were reduced and they had the champions league ones from a few seasons back with his name on and the champions league patch. Another place you could maybe try is www.kitbag.com or you could always order the current united shirt from the club shop and get them to print 7 beckham on it if you get REALLY stuck.

But everyone is right when he first broke into the team he was given number24. Then he was given number 10 for his second season then when Cantona left he was given the number seven shirt. He's said in interviews he was sad to let the numbet 10 shirt go but Teddy Sherringham wanted it and it was always his dream to play in the number 7 shirt.

I have the last Beckham Man Utd jersey made. It is the first jersey made by Nike and has the Premiership patches in blue because it was the year they became champions. The back has the seven with the lion at the bottom. It is long sleeved and size large. New with tags equipped on it. I got two of them from kitbag.com a few years ago for Christmas. It was a very expensive jersey because of the patches, being long sleeved and being shipped from England. I live in the US also, so if the price is right this item may be yours.

The patches really arent that rare especially if they are the crappy plastic ones that were producted the year that shirt was made. They have gone back to the felt ones now which are much better. But most websites will only charge you £5 for a set of patches on the sleeve. So having them on the shirt is nothing special you can get them put on, on most websites or sports shops here.

The one I wore has the felt patches on the sleeve. The one that is still new has the plastic sleeve patches. They are kind of cool though. A bit different.

Just because I want an old David Beckham jersey does not mean that I am a traitor to Man Citeh. I am trying to collect the jersey's of some of the most influential players ever in soccer. I think that Beckham was more influential as a player during his time at Manchester United than Real Madrid not only because of the amount of trophies he won at Manchester United compared to his time at Real but also I believe that Beckham helped globalize soccer in countries that have been and still are dominated by other sports such as in the States. It was when Beckham was at Man Utd. that I saw little kids in the States wearing his jersey and especially during the 2002 World Cup Beckham helped globalize the game of soccer (futbol). Certainly he is not one of the greatest players to have played but it can be argued that he is one of the most influential figures of the sport.

The plastic patches were crap they used to peel off the sleeve really easily. I think they only lasted a season on the replica shirts then the felt ones were re-introduced.
