People complained about both flares and gas bombs, so why not try some a little less disagreeable. My idea is orange light sticks. I think that a section filled with them would look pretty cool. Any thoughts?

biggest problem with gas bombs is setup time, it cuts into tailgate drinking ;)

You know what, pardon the pun, but I think that is a brilliant idea. I think most home games are at night and the north end is not as bright as the other stands. I think that could work. It may look like a Halloween rave, but it may be pretty cool. I would say try it and see.

What about those neon ropes you get at the fairs? Instead of rally towels, you could swing those around. Just don't poke anyone's eye out.

Yeah We could all drop acid and then it would be a real hoot!

I actually thought the towels were kinda cool. It reminded me of the pittsburgh steelers' Terrible towel, but some people may think you just copied them so I don't know if that's a good thing

Scarves, Flags and confetti are the way to go while the team is renting

What about long skinny orange animal balloons?

For that matter, just normal balloons. Blatantly stealing an idea from one of the great SG's, Timbers' Army taped a chant sheet and a balloon to each seat in the surrounding sections after their (triumphant) march into their stadium. Whoever sat there had instructions (also on the sheet) for when to blow the balloon up, throw it in the air, or simply pop it. (This last was most effective at the particular line in our Nation's Anthem, "... the bomb's bursting in air...") Throw 'em up when the team enters the field, etc. You get the idea. Balloons, in combination with streamers, were a fairly effective attention-grabber and made for a festive-inducing atmosphere.

But once again, I am drunk, so what do I know? ;)

I was thinking X and some hard pounding trance. Maybe some big pants, pacifiers, and....jk, I think it might be a swell idea as well.

Hey, I want to know who took a picture of my girlfriend in her thong? Dude, that was not cool. And no, she wasn't the big girl in that picture either. Senor Cool only dates skinny muchachas :D

As for the lightsticks. That is an interesting idea. Imagine the sight from the Delta Airline flyovers. Better yet, why don't we get some of those light sabers like Darth Vader had? That would be cool and we could wave them around, and maybe take out an opposing fan when no one is looking. You think we could get Oliver Luck to foot the bill on the light sticks?

Instead of saying "Luke, I am your father," we can chant, "Who's your daddy"

Re-reading the prohibited items, I was inspired to look up the definition of an incendiary device: An incendiary device is a device or weapon designed to create a fire.

Flares are really designed to create fire - especially a really bright signal fire. They look awesome. Smoke bombs however, are designed to create smoke (but they do create fire to cause the smoke) - so they're ruled out on a technicality.

But clearly this definition rules cigarette lighters out - and they meet the definition much easier than smoke bombs. So smokers in Texian Army, please leave your incendiary devices at the tailgate area. That should make rule #7 of fan conduct (smoke in designated areas) pointless.

However, from what I can tell, dry ice and water are neither incendiary devices nor illegal substances. So we're good.

Then of course - there's always this (if we can find an outlet nearby):
