Personally, i think that Toronto Northmen is the worst name that I've heard. I like the name Toronto FC - simple. My favorite of all the names discussed is Toronto City. I know it's not part of the poll, but it's the best one. I hope that they completely take Northmen out of consideration.

I agree, Northmen sucks. What is a 'Northman" anyway? I agree that Toronto City is the best name although omitted from this poll. I voted for Toronto FC.

Sorry Gooner, I hate to disagree with you but I kinda like Northmen. There something inoffensive about it. It creates no reaction from me whatsoever but it doesn't repel me.

This could be the way to go for this city, neutral and conservative.

I voted Northmen.

Your the first MLS club in Canada, making you the farthest north, hence, Northmen.

Anything Inter is just trash. Toronto FC isn't bad, its just boring.
FC Dallas vs. Toronto FC. What a fun game

So what will you be watching? The game or the fast paced duel between the names?

I didn't see the "anything but the incredibly pandering and embarrassing Inter Toronto FC" as an option so I didn't vote.

If MLSE calls this team Inter Toronto FC...I will NEVER refer to it as such. I urge others to follow.

And I'm calling out the 14 who voted for the name I shall not speak of...

What about that name do you like? Why are you interested in copying something instead of creating something? Why do you want MLS to be a joke? Where can I buy what you’re smoking?

Honestly? Really? WTF? Do you like Real Salt Lake too?

Toronto is really not that north. When Montreal and Vancouver join (seems likly to happen at some point) than do we change our name to the "not-so Northmen," or to, what I like the "middlemen." :p
Anyways, I think as a lot of others do that City is the way to go. Incorporate a Falcon on the crest and the unofficial nickname of the team can be the Falcons (therefor our stadium can be known throughout the world as the "Nest.")... paying homage to two famous clubs in Toronto's soccer history!

EXCELLENT IDEA!! I just hope that it doesn't make "too much sense" for MLSE to adopt.. I hope they don't do it the difficult way.

If I've learned anything in Houston's naming disaster it's that MLS never chooses the simple, obvious name that they fans will love.

Welcome Inter Toronto.

The southernmost part of Ontario is on the same latitude as the northernmost part of California.

I have not voted as I don't really want any of them. To go around in a circle again FC is not appropriate. Out of these three I would reluctantly pick Northmen.

Very true.

BTW, I once again mention my longshot name. Toronto Rifles!

There is a good chance that one of the 3 will be choosen since MLSE registered just those 3 teams name for copyrights.

Toronto City would be A LOT better than Inter Toronto FC or Toronto Northmen. I kinda like Toronto FC, but probably pick Toronto City over Toronto FC.

Just was thinking about FC the other day, and I would like to point out that in a recent episode of the Simpsons, they refered to the Springfield Meltdowns (team to play in the NFL) as a football club.

I really think that Soccer Club is so much better and makes a lot more sense in an American soccer league.

And Toronto City (SC) is the best name that I've seen. I also like the Falcon in the crest idea.

Too bad MLS gets to name the teams, not the fans.

While the name of the team may be important to some, for me what matters is the game and the fact that we will have our first Candian entry in MLS. Whatever its name is I will support it, at least virtually since I live in BC :-)
