That's a damn good question. To my knowledge, that is still in the air.

I heard somone Saturday refer to DC as the "Scum"-I never felt so at home. I am really getting to love this team and the fans.

By chance, is anyone heading up to DC to watch the game? I'm a Houstonian attending college up here, and I signed up to be a Texian Army member. I used to support United and the Screaming Eagles, but now I'm all about the Dynamo! If anyone is coming up, let me know. I'd like to sit with other Dynamo fans.

is big johns the only place they are showing the game? You think they will show it at Fox and hound?

Fox and Hound may get it, but that isn't the liveliest atmosphere..often..

but, you might want to make sure they have HDNET for sure. Big John's isn't to hard to get to if you just jump on Beltway 8 from 35 or 288 being in Pearland. I have driven there from Alvin. Big John's has ACE Pear Cider on tap, so that is a plus for me.

So, is it going to be Big John's, or Bull & Bear?

Good Burgers and Cheap beer but that's all about it.

I went to The Mezzanie to watch the USA-Jamaica match and I have to say It was not of my like. The bar was the smokiest sport bar I have ever been in. I felt like I was smoking with the rest of the people. You can call me a Yankee or Liberal if you want but I do not like second hand smoke.
The burgers were delicious but took 1/2 hour to get served and they were very stingy with the ketchup.

Overall It was just too "college" like.

Now that I bitched and whined.

What do yu guys can say about Big John's? I am planning to go on Saturday.

I've been to Big John's a couple of times.... pretty cool place..... it is a bar.. didn't seem to smoky the last time I was there because none of us watching the soccer match were smoking. In fact I'm not sure if anyone smoked inside. I remember some people going outside to smoke.

Wow you must not hit many bars. Not liking smoke doesn't make you a Yankee! :) It wasn't too bad at all at the Mezz Tuesday. Big Johns is a pretty cool place and has gignormous TVs in there. That's where I plan on going Saturday.

hello guys,

my name is jeremy from the bull and bear. i hope to see a lot of you guys on Saturday. We have two large screens that can be seen from anywhere in the place. You will also find that the food and atmosphere is excellent. ( i know i am tooting my own horn to some extent) People from Britain will especially like the menu ( http://www.thebullandbear-tavernandeatery.com/Our%20Menu.htm ) to you liking. The menu is not limited to British food; we have sea food, steaks, burgers, and even pizza. We also have 35 beers on tap with Guiness always $3. As the Official Away Viewing Site the Dynamo front office will be there with shirts and memorabilia. Later in the season we will be having player meeting sessions and a couple of radio broadcasts done from the bar. I am looking forward to these away games with a lot of Houstonian fans. Feel free to introduce yourself if you come. A map is included on our website or just msg me if you need directions. Seeya Saturday

see, this is why I was wondering. I know that according to the Dynamo website, the Bull and Bear is the official away viewing place and they will have all kinds of specials going on and free swag. But then I see people saying that Big John's is the official bar of the Texian Army. Can you see how someone such as myself could be a bit confused and torn as to which place to venture?

Big Johns: official Texian Army away bar
Bull & Bear: official Dynamo away bar
Mezzanine: official after-home game bar

Big Johns is where Texian Army are supposed to be Saturday night. Game starts at 6:30!

Excuse my ignorance but having never yet set foot in Big John's or B & B, are either/both of these places relatively "kid friendly" or would bringing my 12 yr old son get us nothing but stares and a constant "why did you bring him in HERE" reaction?!

I'm not so worried about the language that might be flying around (we sit in section 111 so we've already heard it all!) but whether or not the establishments would welcome non-adults for dinner and Dynamo viewing?

take b&b right away.

big johns is in gangland and there have been several beating- stabbings outside in the last 2 yrs. the b&b is a lot safer plus a little more plush. i used to go to johns but became a regular at bnb since it opened. i'm gonna write a better description tommorow when i am more sober.
