If this is a preview of a possible final, God help us! Chelsea were better in every facet of the game, especially after they lost a man!
I don't know what happened last week in Dubai, but I suggest that Pardew never does that again. The team was listless, slow, uninspired after the goal.
I really think Ferdinand is a far better defender than Scaloni, and for the first time, Yossi was almost invisible. Let's hope this will be a wakeup call for the whole team. It can't get any worse...can it????

I agree about our performance. We backed off, gave them too much time on the ball especially in the last third and generally showed them just too much respect.
I disagree about Chelsea's performance. We were not outplayed by them (although given our performance we should have been by the Champions) and what I witnessed from Chelsea was far from 'class'. They looked very ordinary in the first 2 thirds of the pitch and hungry for glory in the last third. But despite this they didn't really have to work for the goals as our defenders turned to statues when the ball went near them and every goal had an element of luck about it.
The Champions of the PL should be able to go out and dismantle a team like the one we put out today with great ease and cut our defence open with killer crosses and passes. But I just didn't see any of that today.
I agree that Chelsea diserved to win and were the better side, I just think the way they played did not warrant a 4-1 scoreline.

You weren't "outplayed by Chelsea, and they were far from class ! what game were you watching ? You were very lucky you didn't lose by more than four. But then, tell it the way it is.

I'd answer you,Frank, if I knew what you were talking about! You say 'we weren't outplayed', but 'we were lucky not to lose by more than 4-1'! That's true, since they hit the bar twice!
Who outplayed us then, with only 10 men and coming from 1 goal down? If it wasn't Chelsea, they sure looked very similar!!!!!!

Chelsea were the better side as I stated but I think the word 'outplayed' is a bit strong. However I understand that this part is a bit of a tit-for-tat issue and won't attempt to undermine anyone who disagrees.
However neither team looked 'class' today. It was a battle of the poorest and we won. Any team could have beaten us 4-1 the way we were today. Not long ago Bolton beat us 4-1 at the Reebok and Pompey beat us 4-2 at Upton Park for similar reasons to our defeat today. A poor effort from us. But I didn't hear anyone calling them 'class'. It's a word we seem to reserve for Chelsea.
Chelsea looked very ordinary and they still beat us 4-1 with 10 men so what does that say about us? Chelsea won 4-1 becase we were poor and not because they were 'class'.

Well, to be honest to be 1-0 down and reduced to ten players is a very hard position for any team to be in. There are very few occasions in football where the team reduced to ten players actually goes on and wins the game. For 10 players to beat 11 players by scoring four goals is pretty impressive for any team.
Chelsea played the majority of the game with ten players and as anyone who plays the game can tell you that really does take some effort, some 'class', no matter how weak and pathetic the opposition.

Stomper you have to realise that first rate P rats like this clown can only give it large behind a computer. They have not gots the guts to face anybody because in reality they are ********** cats.
Chelsea have several players that alone cost more than our whole team. Our lack of commitment was dissapointing we know that. However only a first rate coward just out of nappy's would try to rub it in.

Man City were a man down and 3-0 down to Spurs at half time a couple of years ago in the cup, they won 4-3, Chelsea's effort pales in comparison.

It happens all the time. The team changes their shape and the other ten up their play by 10%, the opposition get complacent then get beat.

BridgeMonkee - you are full of class and so is your team, Chelsea. Perhaps the best team every assembled in the history of football. We envy you and bow to your supremacy. We secretly really wish that we were Chelsea fans instead. How much better our lives would be. We acknowledge that we are envious of your world-class stature and that we can only strive to be a sliver of your wholeness, your godliness. You are so refined and we are so banal. If only we could be like you. We are not worthy. We are honoured that you would grace our forum with your overtly superior knowledge of the beautiful game.

You don't have to tell stomper that...he's the only one of you lot that had enough sack to post on the Chelsea board both before and after the match...
Maybe the remainder of you tough guys have been in the same hiding place that your team was in last weekend?

Ahh, now the Monkee is getting his proper respect!
Word of advice, though. Don't hate Chelsea for the failures of your own management (cheers for Lampard and Joey Cole, though! - I'll bet ManUre feels the same about Rio too.), because that makes you all come off as a bit sad...
