I heard a rumor that with Comcast taking over the Bay Area cable from AT&T the channels available were going to change- including elimination of Fox Sports World (at least from the basic digital package)
Anyone else heard this?
Hopefully it is just a rumor- dont mean to get everyone freaking out-

i don't know if it's true or not, but if it is I would probably cancel digital cable since FSW is the only reason I got the dang thing in the first place. oh well.

If there’s no FSW on Digital cable, there’ll be a satellite dish on my roof in the near future.

i dont know how youre cable service is, but i heartily suggest that directtv is the only choice - its cheaper and 100 times better than what i got from the larcenous inept cable company here (dont get me started!)

Agree with everyone putting out an anti-cable post. I got digital cable because it had FSW, and when AT&T Cable didn't offer the Shootout Package anymore, I switched to satellite. If DishTV doesn't offer the better Shootout Package, I will switch to DirecTV.

If they drop FSW I'll tell them to take their crap service and shove it and I'll have a dish on my roof the next day.

(camera shot quickly cuts to the DirecTV offices where the directors are heard to say "CHA-CHING!!!")
I know it's a lot of lettuce but I highly recommend DirecTV with TiVo. **Create your own slow motion replays to clearly show when fish are offside in critical games.

I have Comcast and get Philadelphia stations...All Comcast all the time. Comcast news, Comcast Sports and NO FSW. When it was dropped the papers said FSW competes with Comcast's owned channel Outdoor Life (or something like that). I've called for a dish but you can't get regional FSW and people who have it says many FSW shows get blacked out in this area. I've called Comcast but get no answers about getting FSW back. Comcast owns (I believe) the KIXX so we get them regularly on TV.

Life without FSW, isn't worth living. its the only reason I have digital cable.

Aint that the truth. The only reason I subscribe to digital cable at all is for soccer programming. Outdoor Life Network or ESPN Classic doesn't cut it as a replacement.
Last year, my local MSO (ATT San Mateo) refused to carry the Shootout.
Now, if they blow it again this year and throw salt in the wound by killing FSW or moving it to a more expensive tier (like Sundance, which used to be part of my "premium" digital package, but now costs extra), they'll be making my buying decision even easier.
Repeat after me: Goodbye ATT/Comcast, hello DirecTV.
Ya gotta love a near monopoly that goes the extra mile to drive its customers away.
On the other hand, this could give me the excuse I've needed to convince my wife to let me rewire the house for DirecTivos. :)

I lived in San Francisco last year during the WC, and ATT did not have ESPN2 on the digital package--but tons of phone calls from fans got them to put it in. So, call NOW and start threating to go to DirectV (Even if you can't) if they yank FSW.

F that. I'll cancel Digital, but I won't be able to switch to satellite. Crap. Hopefully they won't yank FSW. Maybe we can get a letter/phone campaign if they have those intentions.
