Ok..maybe not his entire career at Arsenal BUT you are singeling out the negatives only. There is a reason they went undefeated that entire season, sure it wasn't only Jens but he did contribute. Benching Lehmann and going with Almunia was one of Wenger's greatest mistakes as he had to find out first hand. You make it seem as though every bad performance his team had was due to him, and you can't simplify things like that in football all the time.

Plus, this year alone proves what he's worth. And if Wenger had to wait a while to get him in this form, so be it, because its paying off big time.

And I know these are the Bayern boards but its also a thread about Lehmann :D


Arsenal's defense sucked that season too. As has happened in many cases in the Premiership, the keeper takes the punishment for the failings of his defense.

Also, trying to say they were the best team in Europe as the writer you responded to did is just ludicrous.

The bottom line for me is this:

Arsenal is in the Champions' League Final. And every true Arsenal fan I know says Jens Lehmann is to thank for it.

i dont know if it was this or last season, but Lehmann was sitting on the bench! because he was to bad and was making mistakes.

Lehmann is at the moment better as Kahn, but before he was never better than Kahn, 1-2 Seasons he was the same good, but never better, this is the first season!
its crazy what some people on other boards write.. espyecially the ones from Dortmund and Schalke, because Lehmann played for both clubs, sorry but some is simply just stupid !!

and of course, also in this season Lehmann was producing some mistkes, look at the game against Liverpool(?)

jens lehmann gave 100% you cant give that every day. i have a feeling he is struggling and has worked hard to be number 1. but after he getting number 1 can he sustain save after save after every 72 hours. i guess he will break down because we expect lehmann to face 20 shots per match in the world cup

No matter what, he still is the better choice. I feel more optimistic with Lehmann in the goal. It's fantastic that Lehman is being exposed to the top players of the world in the Champion's League right before the World Cup. His current run not only gives Lehmann self-confidence, it also serves to intimidate the players/trainers of other teams we will meet in the WC. People KNOW that Lehmann isn't the German team's weak spot.

dude, just relax. you can't have a good argument if you completely want one side of the argument gone. there is plenty of times we praise our players, its not like they are personally tearing King Kahn's heart apart. and anyways id like them to say it to his face ;) no harm done in some criticism. heck you also say fock all the time so i see no harm done here.
