After much discussion amongst our group, we have decided to call a meeting for next week with the main purpose being to establish a "contribution" list for the home opener tailgate, in addition to updating everyone on the progress of the group as it pertains to the upcoming season.

THIS MEETING IS OPEN TO ANY AND ALL CREW SUPPORTERS WTIH AN INTEREST IN PARTAKING IN INCESSANT CHANTING AND/OR EXTREME DEDICATION TO THE CREW BY WAY OF TAILGATES, ROAD TRIPS, AND OTHER EVENTS AS THEY PERTAIN TO THE CLUB.

The meeting will be held at 7:15pm at The Rose & Thistle in Grandview on Monday, April 10. We'll set this as a soft arrival time, so that everyone can find the place (or travel from out-of-town), grab a seat and a pint, and casually settle in with others that have already arrived by this time. We will then plan to begin discussing the agenda topics at exactly 7:30pm.

In the past, we have used the "back room" at the R&T b/c we can usually have the whole room to ourselves, so we will aim to do so again this time.

Myself or Erin will put together the agenda, so if you have a specific topic that you would like to be discussed, please let me know via email at saad.19@osu.edu. Also, please email me to let me know if you will be attending...I will then send out the agenda in a Word document by Monday morning so that you can all print it out, if need be.

Please come, and bring a friend, or two.

LET'S GO CREW!

p.s.- remember to wear your Crew gear so we know that you're not just some bloke who stumbled in off the street.

Cause you're hardcore Zipsix. Chels is a part-timer and Tony Danza will get there 70 minutes after it starts.

are you teaching poor little Canadian kids how to read and do their numbers? That's very philanthropic of you Chels.

Do we have any news coming out of this meeting? Is the news not something that needs to be publically stated as you want to surprise people?

beer is good. Lots of beer is better. How is that for news?
I don't think there was anything "surprise" there. Mike, Danza, Wittler, Zip....any comments? It just seemed to be a lot of the same to me. My Boddingtons and I were talking while the meeting was going on.

I guess there's something to be said for the route 1 approach.

We talked about basic procedural items for the home opener and season (i.e. tailgate location/contributions, chants/songs, etc.). Danza and Zip-Six have been hard at work on some new banners/flags for the section.

Also, 2 new items were discussed, both regarding "marketing/outreach/member recruitment". First, we have setup an agreement with the front office to have an introduction of sorts played over the stadium PA system just before kick-off at home games. The message will help draw attention to (a hopefully well populated and colorful) section 137, thus increasing the likelihood that other Crew fans/supporters will come join us.

Secondly, we have arranged to have a flyer available at tonight's GameWorks event. The flyer also invites fans to join the section, or at least try it out, and will be available along with the Crew FO handout items tonight.

The other major topic discussed in our meeting was the organization of group road trips for this season. We are still working on the specifics for these, but we have targeted the following games:
Sat., 7/15 @D.C. United
Sat., 8/5 @Chicago

We had a total of 13 individuals attend the meeting, including a wide range of people from various groups.

I would say 75% of the meeting was focused on recruiting. The big question is how to raise awareness of 137 among Ohio State students who seem to be the perfect fit at least demographically.
