View Full Version : A call for flags in the supporter's section

I saw a diverse group in the supporter's section this past sunday. We all have an immigrant background (some by birth others through their family) and it would be great if everyone would bring a flag to represent this. I imagine a big Texas flag in the center reminding us that we're all Tejanos/Texians/Texans united to support our team. I think this would also draw more people to the supporters section.

Poles will have to be pre-approved by the Dynamo - sounds like we won't have enough time to get much approved for tomorrow.
We'll also have plenty of streamers - and several rolls of table-cloth for colors bars (which we had last game but they never made it out of the box).
I'll also have another (bigger) drum.

An easy way to get some custom flags is order blanks or patterns off of ebay, and spend a couple hours with an overhead projector painting them yourselves.
When looking for some new blue stuff, I did a quick orange search. They have blank 3x5's that you could put something on really easily.

I have several country flags that I'll bring.
U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Scotland for sure. I've got several others but I don't think they are relevant for this game.
No poles yet, though. I'll work on that for the next game.

Any word yet on what will or will not be approved for use as a flag pole? PVC pipe, bamboo rod, fishing pole (sans hook and bait, I would imagine!)?
Oh, and Spleen, I like the first one much better. And put the latest Texian Army logo (Numero Dos' modified 1836 star) in place of the star, and we could have an official Texian Army standard.

I'll keep buying drums as long as someone wants to bang on them.
Having some transportation issues this week, and since the pep band is "assured" to be with us, may only bring the small drum... (and my drummer has a show tonight - banging other drums - so will be looking for someone to bang the one!)
But please - if anyone wants a drum - let me know - so I can continue to track them down!

We cannot make the State of Texas Flag our standard as there are several "other" pro clubs in Texas that have a claim to the State Flag. This is the premium on the Gonzalez Flag, Alamo Flag, McDermitt Flag (Bloody Arm) and the San Jac Flag...which I will eventually have for our Texian Army.
