Maybe I'm an idiot, okay I am an idiot but I don't remember seeing any Toronto stadium designs and apparently they have already broken ground. Does anyone happen to know where to find or want to post some pics for the design of the stadium? Thanks!

Directly below is the last public rendering. This design is slightly different than the last one in the link at the bottom of this post. Not sure if the actual design is different or if it is just a reverse angle.

They are saying this is just a place-holder before the real renderings come out, correct?

I can tell you with a fair degree of confidence that this is the actual stadium design,

The budget is modest and construction cost in Toronto are high!

Thanks for the info, actually looks quite similar to the Rochester Rhinos stadium. Doesn't look like a bad place to catch a game.

The one thing I'm noticing here is the lack of luxury boxes. Unless they're in the stands on the other side?

This does look like PTP in Rochester... in that stadium, the luxury boxes will be between the upper and lower decks...

So, if the stadium has been shrunk by 5K, will the upper deck not be added?

So, if the stadium has been shrunk by 5K, will the upper deck not be added?

There was originally going to be much more seating at the north end where there is now a concrete concourse in the plans. From what I understand temporary bleachers will be added to bring capacity up to 25K during the World Youth Cup.

I have read that Toronto will only have 10-12 boxes. Which I personally found really really low as the Whitecaps out here in Vancouver supposedly have deposits for over 40 box or something and the stadium isn't even approved yet.

Hey as long as the stadium have room for expansion everything is cool

I hope the stadium gets a few improvements than the way it looks in the renderings. It looks pretty boring by those pics

The official groundbreaking is on April 12th. I'm guessing that they will probably have more updated pictures of the design by then. At least that's what I'm hoping.

Did they break ground? I'd like to see some up to date renderings. This could really be a beautiful stadium with the real estate it sits on

^^ the stadium has been under construction for 4 months now, 12-13 more to go.

I think you mean "could have been"...

I know any SSS is better than no SSS and we are all lucky to have a new stadium in North America, but I for one am incredibly dissappointed with what they're doing in Toronto. It looks like aluminum high-school stands on steriods.

I mean, if you're gonna go far enough as to get government approval, buy the property, and court MLS, go ahead and build an architecturaly decent stadium. this thing's an embarassment. Just my opinion. that's all.

All in all, glad that Toronto's coming to the MLS.

No sky boxes at least that I can see... one-level seating forever... the chinsy light standards.... no roof.. no offices, significant concourse, visible concessions.

Seriously... looking at that picture, the only thing I can see that separates my old high-school soccer field from that thing architecturally is 15,000 more aluminum bench seats.

(rant over... thank you for your patience)
