Remember that time the Polish blockaded the Dutch ports so Dutch people had to eat tulip bulbs for a whole winter? Yeah, me neither.
In the words of Dave Chappelle, "You tried to kill my father, man". And that's why some people are going to harbour resentment against the Germans.
So you're going to take the actions of a few Germans and blow it up.
In that case, the Native Americans should hate the Dutch for taking Manhattan for so few money. After all, what has Manhattan done for the US?
Maybe us Americans should destroy all of Mesopotamia for 9/11.

WW2 only plays a role in the Dutch-German rivalry because the media bring it up every time we meet in football (it never seems an issue in other sports). I personally don't believe that there are many Dutch that have a grudge against Germany because of the war. When it comes to the footballing rivalry, it's very simple. Germany are our big neighbours. And while we feel we have the superior players and play the superior game, Germany is much more successful (historically).

I think we should just leave it at that. :o

I think after all, there is only one reason us Germans still have to face so much hatred in the world: sunbeds!

And vise versa. ;)
But if I were Dutch, I bet there would be no better feeling than beating Germany in Germany in the WC...

...in the final. Absolutely.
There are some dutch people that claim Germany isn't a rival anymore. I bet you that not too many people will say that should we actually meet this summer.
[starting another daydream.....]

They are indeed. Delusion born out of arrogance, I think.

I can see why they say that now...no one in Germany (except some delusional fans) think that Germany is even equal to Holland. But what happens when (as expected) Germany will have another super team and Holland have to play them. Of course these ppl will come back and say something about rivalry.

So Hannover is where all our bikes are? :o
I'm afraid I'll have to send our caravan commandos to block the autobahn near Hannover then.
